HDFC Bank credit card users are eligible for the accidental death insurance when they complete more than 4 transactions using their HDFC Bank credit card. This insurance provides insurance up to 5 times the credit limit of the user’s credit card. The amount can go up to Rs.50,00,000.

Step 1: The legal heir has to inform about any accidental death to email@example.com within 30 days of the death.
Step 2: Within 60 days of the date of loss, the legal heir must file all applicable claims documents at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 3: If any extra documentation is required, HDFC Ergo will check and respond within 3 working days.
Step 4: If all of the paperwork is in order, HDFC Ergo will process the claim and deposit the funds into the claimant's/account, customer's which was submitted with the claim document.
Step 5: In the event that a claim is repudiated, the claimant will receive a repudiation letter from the insurance company, along with the explanation for the repudiation.
Coverage is applicable for 180 days after purchase and is limited to assets acquired using HDFC Bank Credit Cards for more than Rs.5,000. The coverage limit for Personal Portable Equipment is Rs. 25,000 per item. A maximum Sum Insured of Rs.2,00,000 is available for any other assets.
Articles purchased with your insured HDFC Bank Credit Card are protected under the Fire and Burglary Protection, providing the Cardholder declares the value and date of purchase (first 180 days cover from the date of purchase of the articles). It is critical that customers report any such loss, damage, or injury to the Bank within 48 hours of the occurrence.
Articles flammable in nature, motor vehicles / pedal cycle deeds, bonds, bills of exchange, promissory notes, share certificates, business books, manuscripts, any sort of document, unset precious stones, jewelry, and valuables are not covered by the insurance.
