    • Interest Rates Slashed on Outstanding Credit Card Dues

Shoppers across India will rejoice, as the Reserve Bank of India has instructed banks to recheck and reduce the interest rates levied on outstanding credit card balances. This mandate from the RBI is a move to ensure that there is fairness and transparency with respect to credit card finances. Additionally this measure also comes as a respite for credit card customers paying interest rates as high as 42% per annum for failed and late payments. The RBI also issued another directive to banks to put a ‘zero liability’ policy in place for fraud victims, in situations where negligence is not the key reason for fraud.

The Reserve Bank stated that the Indian Bank’s Association will set forth detailed operational guidelines for banks in both regards to make it convenient for banking customers. As far as internet fraud is concerned, RBI said that the bank needs to address the problem faced by a fraud victim and determine whether the fraud happened due to customer negligence. In cases where the bank is unable to do so, then the customer should be given the benefit of doubt and a refund process should be put into place.

Having the Standard Charted Bank lifestyle card for past 7years, but I don't use this card much. I am happy with the credit limit. I have benefits with this card, If I go purchase the clothing in the lifestyle store. I would say this card has come along with my salaried account. I would say it is average card to use. There is no annual fee with this card.

I hold a Standard Charted bank platinum rewards card for past 6 years. I use this card for all purchases and for bill payments. The credit limit is Rs,40,00 and I am satisfied with it. There is no annual fee with this card. The additional charges and the rate of interest is low with this card.

      0.5 1.0/5 "Really Bad"
Standard Chartered Bank as far as my experience goes very rarely act on their commitment. I was actually promised a Credit Card with high credit limit, but when the card came in I was offered lesser limit. I felt they should atleast have the courtesy to inform me about the same.

I am using SCB credit card from last 3 years, the services provided by SCB is comparatively good. I also get offers like EMI and cashback but i do not avail it. It is very good card to use. I use this card for personal use like shopping and dining and when it comes to credit limit, it is satisfactory.

My credit card was taken with Standard Chartered Bank. I earn reward points and cash back offers when I use for online purchase. The customer service is good, they update me about the offers. I got a 24/7 helpline number to reach the customer support.

I hold a credit card with Standard Chartered Bank and i would say that they are not as flexible with the due dates for payments and also have hidden charges that i personally am not comfortable with. Their rate of interest is also on a higher scale.
