HDFC customers typically approach the bank’s customer care centres for any kind of queries/complaints. When they are not satisfied with the reply or when the issue is not resolved they can escalate the same to the bank’s higher officials through the HDFC grievance redressal system.
The HDFC grievance redressal system is open to all the bank’s customers and is designed to provide quick and effective redressal for all sorts of customer grievances.
The bank has a pre-defined policy in place, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, to receive and address customer grievances fairly, quickly and efficiently, irrespective of source of the case.
As part of the policy, HDFC provides various channels for the customers to seek redressal of any grievances related to services offered by the bank or any kind of noncompliance to the Code of Commitment.
The first step in grievance redressal is to contact HDFC grievance redressal officer. Any one of the below channels can be used approach the officer.
The forms includes various fields to fill including personal details, contact details, complaint/feedback, etc. The very first column of the form asks for ‘Service Request/Complaint Reference Number’ which is the number sent to the customer after raising the complaint through HDFC customer care.
The field is marked mandatory which means customers cannot submit the request without the reference number. This clearly tells that the grievance redressal accepts only the complaints which are not resolved through customer care.

If, for any reason, the issue is still not resolved or if there is no response within 30 days of raising the complaint, customers can contact Banking Ombudsman appointed by the RBI.
