    • How ICICI emerged as the champion of mobile banking

Mobile has never been a preferred medium of banking in our country as it is now. And ICICI, India’s top private bank, has rightfully arose as the undeniable groundbreaker as per the records of the previous quarter. With the maximum number of fund transfers worth more than INR 6800 crores and a whopping 53.2 lacs transactions, it not only tops among private sector banks, but has achieved twice what has been achieved by the next listed bank. RBI has reported an INR 16,000 crore worth of transactions by the bank in the current financial year alone.

So what are the causes that led to this achievement for the two decade old bank? Firstly it launched iMobile, a customizable app, which was an immediate success. As of now ICICI boasts of around 125 services on the mobile banking app. After that they also introduced Pockets, a digital banking app. You can use your debit card to handle any kind of transactions using these apps.

    • ICICI Bank introduces mobile payment service via mVisa

ICICI Bank, country’s top private sector bank, has declared the introduction of a unique service that facilitates users to disburse bills and other payments electronically using their smartphones at regular stores, e-commerce portals, home deliveries, cab fares, utility bills and more. To begin with, this feature, based on ‘mVisa’, has been initiated in Bangalore with over 1500 traders and dealers. The bank informed that it will soon extend it to more regions. And as ICICI Bank reiterated it is the first bank internationally to inaugurate a mobile app based 'mVisa' solution for customers and traders alike. Through this, the consumers can make cashless disbursements with their debit cards with the convenience of speed to perform a transaction along with enhanced security as the card remains in possession of the customer. This solution is expected to set off a revolution in the implementation of electronic payments in India.

      8th October 2015

    • Card-less mVisa – a new ICICI initiative

ICICI Bank has honored itself by being the first financial institution globally to introduce mVisa, which is a card-less and device-less solution almost every payment firm is gambling on in the mobile platform. It is fashioned by VISA International for the bank. ICICI Bank has integrated the mVisa app in its very own Pockets app, allowing payments to be done by verifying a static QR code and putting in the sum. Since this is a zero-investment product, customers (mostly traders) are quick to laud it. You just have to maintain a QR code in print that must be put under the scanner of the Pockets app. After that, you simply enter the required amount and the PIN to get cash transferred to the relevant account immediately. There is one vital dissimilarity between debit card disbursement and that of mVisa though. The latter has lesser chances of fraudulence as customer puts in the info and initiates the transaction.
