    Generating ICICI Debit Card PIN Online

    ICICI account holders can generate or change their debit card PIN online using the following methods:

    iMobile app

    iMobile is ICICI Bank’s mobile banking application. The app can be used to generate or change a debit card PIN by following the steps listed below:

    • Login to the iMobile app and select the ‘Services’ tab
    • Select the option titled ‘Card Services’
    • From the list on the card services page, select the option titled ‘Generate Debit Card PIN’
    • Enter the debit card CVV number and debit card type
    • Set the account number linked to the debit card, followed by the card number
    • Enter the new debit card PIN and select the ‘Submit’ button

    Internet Banking

    • Login to the bank’s internet banking website and click on the ‘Customer Service’ option.

    Transferring funds from an ICICI Bank ATM

    The following are the steps to transfer funds using an ATM:

    • ICICI Bank Reports Significant Hike in Debit and Credit Card Usage Post Demonetisation of Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 currency notes

      After the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi cancelled Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 as legal tender and replaced it with new Rs.2,000 currency notes, common people started to use debit or credit card for most of their transactions. As the new notes were not easily available in ATMs and a long queue lined up in front of banks, many prefered to use their cards for their daily expense. In the last week, ICICI Bank witnessed 100% jump in their debit card usage and 40% jump in their credit card usage. Cardholders are mostly using their cards for restaurants, hospital and departmental bills. The bank stated that people are also using their cards to buy automobile and other accessories. On November 12th, ICICI Bank witnessed over 1 million point-of-sale and e-commerce transactions.

      ICICI Bank has partnered with the Indian Railway’s e-ticketing portal, IRCTC, to vend rail tickets via its official website. As the biggest private sector bank in country, this move is expected of them. And according to the press release, they will soon launch the feature to reserve train tickets on its mobile banking app and prepaid digital wallet. The account holders will have to register themselves on the website of the IRCTC first, which is where Railways predominantly sells train tickets. Once that is done, perform a one-time registering on ICICI bank’s website to make use of this feature. The press release mentioned that the feature is not restricted to ICICI clients alone. Even if you are not an ICICI bank customer, you can avail this. The disbursements for the ticket purchases can be done using internet banking, or credit/ debit card of any bank. People can look for trains, reserve/ cancel e-tickets or check PNR status from this platform.

    • How ICICI emerged as the champion of mobile banking

      Mobile has never been a preferred medium of banking in our country as it is now. And ICICI, India’s top private bank, has rightfully arose as the undeniable groundbreaker as per the records of the previous quarter. With the maximum number of fund transfers worth more than INR 6800 crores and a whopping 53.2 lacs transactions, it not only tops among private sector banks, but has achieved twice what has been achieved by the next listed bank. RBI has reported an INR 16,000 crore worth of transactions by the bank in the current financial year alone.

      So what are the causes that led to this achievement for the two decade old bank? Firstly it launched iMobile, a customizable app, which was an immediate success. As of now ICICI boasts of around 125 services on the mobile banking app. After that they also introduced Pockets, a digital banking app. You can use your debit card to handle any kind of transactions using these apps.
