When you receive a Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card, the first thing you need to do is to set a PIN to begin using the card at retail terminals and online websites.
Standard Chartered Bank usually dispatches credit cards through post or courier to your registered mailing address. When you receive the card, it's already activated, hence there is no separate activation process required for Standard Chartered Bank credit cards. However, you need to set the credit card PIN by yourself in order to use the card at ATMs and merchant terminals.
When Standard Chartered Bank dispatches your credit card, it is already in activated mode. However, the bank will not send any PIN along with the card.
Once you receive the card, you need to generate the PIN using any one of the methods mentioned below.
Once the PIN is generated, you can activate the card by using it at merchant terminals, ATMs, or through any PIN-required transactions.

Once you have access to Standard Chartered Bank internet banking, you can follow the instructions mentioned below to set your credit card PIN for the first time.
Steps to set Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card PIN
Once the OTP is verified successfully, the screen will prompt a message saying that your credit card PIN has been set. You might also receive a confirmation SMS or e-mail about the same.
Once the PIN is set, you can start using your Standard Chartered Bank credit card.
If you do not have access to SCB internet banking, you can call Standard Chartered Bank credit card helpline numbers to generate your credit card PIN instantly.
Call the respective Standard Chartered Bank phone banking number between 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. on any day and follow the instructions to set your credit card PIN.
If you wish to change or update your SCB credit card PIN, you can use your net banking facility.
Login to your SCB net banking account, Go to 'Help and Services > Card Management > Credit or Debit Card PIN Change > Select Your Card > Enter 6-digit PIN > Next.'
You will then receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the same and your PIN will be changed instantly.
In case, you forget your SCB credit card PIN, you need to set a new PIN using the process mentioned above. There is no way to recover your old credit card PIN.
You can use SCB ATM only to change the existing PIN, but not to set a new PIN for the first time. Even when changing the PIN through SCB ATM, you must remember the old PIN to initiate the change request. Else, you need to call the helpline number.
There is no limit set by the bank to change your SCB credit card PIN. However, it's recommended not to do it on a daily basis.
The credit card PIN change is immediate. As soon as you receive a confirmation message that the PIN has been changed or set, you can use it at a POS or an ATM.
No, in case of a renewed card membership, you don't have to set or change a PIN. However, if your SCB card is replaced, you should generate a new PIN through internet banking or by calling the customer care.
