When the HSBC Credit Card is issued, it is in a deactivated state. Your card can be activated when you generate a PIN. There are multiple ways to generate a credit card PIN. A PIN can be generated either at an ATM or by using it for an online transaction. You can also generate a PIN by calling the customer care of the bank.
You can generate your credit card PIN at your nearest ATM once you have received an OTP for the same. To do so, you need to visit your nearest HSBC ATM and use your HSBC credit card as an ATM card. Follow the steps given below:
Step 1: You need to insert your HSBC credit card into the ATM machine.
Step 2: Select your preferred language.
Step 3: Click on the option 'Create a new ATM PIN'.
Step 4: Choose the 'using OTP' option.
Step 5: Then enter the OTP sent to your mobile.
Step 6: Add your mobile number when prompted.
Step 7: Add a 4-digit PIN of your choice.
Step 8: Once done, re-type the PIN and click 'Submit'.
You can also generate your PIN by making an online transaction that requires you to add your PIN. On making a transaction, you can add the OTP sent by the bank to authenticate the transaction. Once you have completed the process, you can choose to add a new PIN during the transaction.
Apart from visiting an ATM or making a transaction, you can also generate your HSBC Bank PIN by contacting the customer care of the bank. You can call the HSBC credit card customer care at 1800 267 3456 or 1800 121 2208 and request to change your credit card PIN.
You can also generate your HSBC credit card PIN via mobile banking. Follow the steps given below:
Step 1: You need to log on to the HSBC mobile application.
Step 2: You need to select your credit card from the account list.
Step 3: Click on 'Manage cards'.
Step 4: Click on the 'Activate' option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
In case you wish to change your HSBC Credit Card PIN, you can opt for either of the following ways:
Step 1: Insert your credit card in the machine.
Step 2: Choose the language.
Step 3: Enter the existing credit card PIN.
Step 4: Click on the option of 'Change PIN'.
Step 5: Once done, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 6: Enter the OTP on the screen.
Step 7: Add a 4-digit PIN of your choice.
Step 8: Re-type the PIN to confirm and click on 'Submit'.
Once done, the new PIN will be effective immediately.
Step 1: Log in to the HSBC India Mobile app.
Step 2: Select your credit card.
Step 3: Tap on the option of 'Manage cards'.
Step 4: Select the option of 'Reset credit card PIN'.
Step 5: Submit the request.
Yes, the PIN will be the same for the primary and add-on credit cards.
No, you can use the same PIN in case of a re-issue of your credit card.
