Australia Visa Requirements For Indians

As an Indian applicant, it is significant to understand the Australia visa requirements before applying. The documentation or paperwork differs from one visa category to the other. The details about the basic guidelines, fees, and other mandatory documents of an Australian visa are explained below.

Australia Visa Requirements

The fee details, processing time, and requirements for each type of Australian visa are as follows:

Australia Tourist Visa

  • The visa fee is Rs.8,306 per person.
  • The visa processing time is from 10 to 15 days.
  • Depending on the agent, there will be an additional visa processing charge of Rs.2,000 + 15% GST.
  • An original passport that has a validity of 6 months from the date of journey. If there are any old passports, they have to be submitted as well. All pages of the passport have to be notarized and photocopied.
  • A duly filled and signed visa application form.
  • Two recently taken photos on a white background with a matte finish and each of the size 35 × 45 mm.
  • A copy of Aadhaar card or PAN card.
  • A copy of Form 16/Income Tax for the last 3 years.
  • If employed, a copy of salary slips for the last 3 months.
  • Original bank statements for the last 6 months. These will serve as a proof that the applicant maintains a sufficient and a healthy balance.
  • Original leave letter from the employer approving or sanctioning the applicant’s leave. This has to be on the company’s letterhead with an authorized signature.
  • If self-employed, a proof of the company’s registration certificate. This could be MOA, Shop ACT, etc.
  • If retired, a proof of retirement.
  • If the applicant is a student, a copy of his/her NOC (No Objection Certificate) letter/ID card/Bonafide letter from the respective school or college.
  • A copy of the hotel accommodation.
  • A copy of confirmed return flight tickets or itinerary.
  • A copy of other financial documents like shares, FD (Fixed Deposits), property papers, mutual funds, NSC, PPF, etc.
  • Children who are below 18 years should give a notarized No Objection Certificate (NOC) from any one of the non-accompanying parents for authorizing the journey to Australia. The NOC has to be attached to their parents’ passports.
  • If the children are staying or travelling with their non-relatives, then the person’s full name, date of birth, and nationality have to be submitted.

Australia Business Visa

  • The visa fee is Rs.8,306 per person for Sub600.
  • The visa fee is Rs.10,406 per person for Sub400.
  • The visa processing time is from 10 to 15 days.

A business visa of Subclass600 must be applied if an applicant is travelling to Australia for the following purpose:

  • Investigating personal investments or looking for job opportunities.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and negotiations.
  • Representing an overseas entity in cooperation.
  • Investigating various business opportunities.
  • Representing an official business or foreign government.

A short-stay or temporary visa of Subclass400 must be applied if an applicant is travelling to Australia for the following purpose:

  • Participating in a social event or an overseas entity, given that there is an invitation from the respective Australian organization.
  • Undertaking non-going, short-term, and highly specialized job.

Documentation:

  • An original passport that has a validity of 6 months or more from the date of travel. If there are any old passports, they have to be submitted as well. All pages of the passport have to be notarized and photocopied.
  • A duly filled and signed visa application form.
  • Two recently taken color photos on a white background, each of matte finish and of the size 35 × 45 mm.
  • A cover letter that states the applicant’s name, travel date, duration of the stay, meeting information, etc. This has to be on the company’s letterhead and must also include a detailed itinerary along with the contact details of both the business parties.
  • A proof of the company’s registration.
  • A copy of Form 16/Income Tax documents for the last 3 years.
  • If employed, the applicant has to provide his/her salary slips for the last 6 months.
  • An invitation/request letter from the Australian company.
  • A copy of event/conference registration details.

Australia Family or Friend Visit Visa

  • The visa fee is Rs.8,306 per person.
  • The visa processing time is from 10 to 15 days.

Documentation:

  • Original passport with a validity of 6 months from the travel date. If there are any old passports, they have to be submitted as well. All pages of the passport have to be notarized and photocopied.
  • A duly filled and signed visa application form.
  • Two recently taken color photos on a white background, each of matte finish and of the size 35 × 45 mm.
  • A cover letter that states the applicant’s name, travel details, passport details, and expenses details. If the applicant is self-employed, this information has to be mentioned on the company’s letterhead.
  • A copy of Aadhaar card or PAN card.
  • A copy of Form 16/Income Tax documents for the last 3 years if the applicant is employed.
  • A copy of salary slips for the last 3 months if the applicant is employed.
  • Original bank statements for the last 6 months that serves a proof that the applicant is maintaining a healthy and an adequate balance.
  • A proof of the company’s registration certificate if the applicant is self-employed. This could be MOA, Shop ACT, etc.
  • A copy of retirement certificate if the applicant is retired.
  • A copy of the applicant’s NOC (No Objection Certificate) letter/ID card/Bonafide letter from the respective school or college if he/she is a student.
  • A copy of confirmed return flight tickets or itinerary.

  • A proof of the relationship status if the applicant has been invited by his/her family members (if available).
