Documents Required For Hajj

The Haj Committee of India has started accepting applications for Hajj 2022 from November 1, 2021. The applicants can submit the completed Hajj Application Form (HAF) along with the required documents by January 31, 2022. Depending on the state Haj committees, the selection of pilgrims will be carried out the pilgrim's first charter. The Haj Committee will be releasing the details of the flight schedule in the coming days.

Applicants can download the Hajj Application Form (HAF) from either the official website or choose to obtain a free copy of the State/Union Territory Haj Committees. The Haj Committees are also providing the instructions and guideline booklet free of cost to interested applicants. Applicants can use the booklet to get help while filling in the HAF.

Hajj Application Process

In order to be eligible for the Haj yatra application, the applicant must have a valid international passport issued. Applicants are also provided with an option to either submit the application online or offline to the Haj Committee of India.

The applicants can follow these steps to download the HAF online:

  • Visit (Official website for Haj Committee of India)
  • Select ‘Haj Application Form’ listed under ‘HAJ - 2018 Related Downloads’ menu
  • Download the ‘HAJ APPLICATION FORM FOR HAJ - 14339 (H) - 2018 (CE)’ in PDF format
  • The application also provides general instructions for completing the HAF online

Take a print out of the form to fill in the details and submit it along with a passport size photograph with white background. The passport size photograph must be 3.5cm x 3.5 cm in size. The applicants can also access the website to understand various rules and regulations pertaining to Haj Yatra 2018. In addition to the do’s and don’ts, the website also provides guidance in completing the application process.

Hajj Application Form

The HAF requires the following details for the application process:

  • Reserve category, if any
  • Embarkation point
  • Accommodation category
  • Name of cover head
  • Applicant’s details such as name, D.O.B., passport details, etc.
  • Applicant’s complete address
  • Details of nominee of applicant
  • Name of Mehram with relation (applicable for lady pilgrims)
  • Details of being a permissible Repeater, etc.

Documents Required For Haj 2018 Application

The completed application can be submitted to the HAF to State / UT Haj Committee along with the following documents -

  • Valid International Passport
  • Proof of address (if different from what is mentioned on the passport)
  • Bank pay-in-slip (original)
  • Copy of cancelled cheque/bank passbook
  • Solemn Declaration, etc.

  • UAE Offers Tourist Visa to Indian Citizens on One Condition

    The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to provide tourist visas to Indian passport holders who have not visited the country in the previous 14 days. The opportunity will be given to citizens of Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Uganda, in addition to Indian citizens. The news comes as the UAE works to gradually relax travel restrictions imposed on nationals of several countries. All fliers will be required to undergo an RT-PCR test on the day of arrival and again nine days later, according to the new guidelines.

  • Hike in airfares and visa fees for taking Haj and Umrah pilgrimages opposed

    Stating that the annual pilgrimage to Haj and Umrah has been made unaffordable for a large number of Muslims in the country, the Congress unit of Maharashtra has opposed the hike in airfares and visa fees needed to visit the places. Former Congress Minister and current MLA from Chandivali Md Arif Naseem Khan in a letter to the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Mumbai had written that the current hike have made the pilgrimages a costly affair. He urged the consul general to ask the Saudi Arabian government to review and slash the hikes in ensuring that the trip can be afforded by all.

    It needs to be mentioned that the Mumbai-Jeddah and Medina return airfares were increased from Rs.35,000 to Rs.52,500. Apart from that, the visa fees was also hiked by around Rs.35,000 for pilgrims who wish to go on a repeat trip to the pilgrimages within a period of two years.

    The Haj pilgrimage for 2018 is scheduled to start in the fourth week of August while pilgrims prefer to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage in the holy month of Ramadan that starts on May 15.

  • Date For Passport Submission For NRI Haj Pilgrims Is Extended

    Considering the demands of NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) for their Haj pilgrimage during August, the Indian Haj Committee has announced the date extension for submitting their original passports to April 30.

    Earlier, the circular stated that the date will be April 15 but later, Dr. Maqsood Ahmad Khan, the Indian Haj Committee CEO issued another circular stating that the last date for submitting original passports for all the NRI pilgrims will be April 30. He notified further that the hajis/pilgrims should obey the rules as prescribed.

  • The passport approval of the earlier activists for Haj shall be done only after proper verification – says Mehbooba Mufti

    Mehbooba Mufti, the Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, said “A proper verification shall be made in order to approve the passport of the earlier activists for Haj. An applicant’s passport case shall be considered for clearance only after making a proper verification about his/her present activities. While replying to a question by Shamim Firdous, who is the minister in-charge for Home, she said, the applicants who had crossed over to our neighbor country Pakistan or Pakistan-occupied Kashmir region for gaining arms training are not caught to be involved in anti-national undertakings.”

  • Safety discussion of Indian Haj pilgrims

    Maqsood Ahmed Khan, the Chief Executive Office of Haj Committee of India discussed the safety of Indian Haj pilgrims in Hyderabad. The high-level meeting was arranged by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Minorities Welfare, Government of India. The Haj applications are currently being accepted by the Haj Committee of India with an extended deadline. Many senior officers of concerned departments joined the meeting to ensure the safety of Indian Haj pilgrims for 2018.
