News About Turkey E-Visa For Indians

  • Travellers to Turkey told to carry e-visa copies or face the risk of being turned away

Individuals travelling to Turkey this summer have been instructed to carry paper copies of their e-visa or else they would be turned away from the departure gate itself. This has resulted in confusion among the travellers because Turkey has an e-visa system that allows visitors to purchase and produce their documents online and on their smartphones.

However, recently, over 30 passengers were turned away from boarding an EasyJet flight to Bodrum, Turkey after being informed that the mobile phone versions would not be accepted.

Earlier this month, the information about the same was updated by the Foreign Office (FCO). It?asked the holidaymakers to the popular summer destination to keep a hard carry of their e-visa.

The cost of the online documents is $20 (£15.45) and they should be purchased from the official website at least 48 hours before the scheduled travel. Last year, Turkey announced that it would remove e-visa kiosks from its airports that include the new hub at Istanbul.
