Indane Composite Cylinder

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has introduced a smart cylinder in the market, named 'Indane Composite Cylinders'. This new offering by IOCL allows the consumer to accurately check how much gas has been used, thus making it easier to plan the next refill.

The smart cylinder has a three-layer design. The first-layer or inner layer is made up of blow-molded High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), the second layer is made up of polymer-wrapped fibre glass composite and the third layer is an HDPE outer jacket.

Features of Indane Composite Cylinder

The main features of the Indane Composite Cylinder are mentioned below: 

  1. The smart cylinder has a translucent body which makes it easier for the consumer to check the gas level when held against light. It is easier for customer to know when to apply for refill
  1. This cylinder is almost half the weight of its steel counterpart
  1. This cylinder has an aesthetically pleasing design and does not corrode
  1. This cylinder comes in multiple size variants, i.e. 5kg and 10kg
  1. The cylinders are currently available at certain distributors in Ludhiana, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and New Delhi. However, the cylinder will soon be available across India
  1. You can replace the existing cylinders with composite cylinders
