The steps to find your name on the PMUY beneficiary list are as follows:

  1. Log on to theofficial website for ujjwala beneficiary list . It is the website for finding out if your name exists in the PMUY beneficiary list or not. The beneficiaries are identified through the SECC.
  2. After logging on to the website, enter the following details:
    • Enter the state of your residence.
    • Enter the district of your residence.
    • Enter the tehsil or taluk in which you reside.
    • Enter the gram panchayat of your residence.
    • Select the number of rows to be displayed.
    • Select the category which you belong to. The categories mentioned on the page are Auto inclusion or deprivation, Auto exclusion or others.
    • Click on submit.

Documents required for obtaining an LPG connection under PMUY

The documents required for obtaining an LPG connection under PMUY are:

  • The Below Poverty Line ration card.
  • Aadhar card of the applicant.
  • Voter ID of the applicant.
  • Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
  • The photocopy of the bank passbook.  

Important Note on PMUY

Some of the statistics related to PMUY are:

  • As per the data provided by the government, 5,56,90,924 connections have been released by the government till date.
  • The target for the government is to provide LPG connection to every below poverty line household by the end of 2020.
  • Since the PMUY scheme was introduced, the LPG coverage across the country has increased to 70%.
  • The top 5 states to have received the most LPG connections under the scheme are Uttar Pradesh (46 lakh), West Bengal (19 lakh), Bihar (19 lakh), Madhya Pradesh (17 lakh) and Rajasthan (14 lakh). In fact, the state mentioned above constitute 75% of the total connections released by the government under PMUY.
  • Out of the total connections released by the government, 35% have been given to the SC/ST community.

  • Beneficiaries of the PM Ujjwala Yojana likely to get free LPG cylinders due to rise in COVID-19 cases

    With the number of cases increasing in the country, the oil companies are likely to extend the period of the EMI reference scheme by one year. With this, the customers will not have to pay the EMI amount to oil companies while purchasing the cylinders.   

    The EMI Deferment Scheme, as per the current regulations, is ending on July 2020, however, according to reports, the scheme can be extended by up to a year. The customers can take LPG connections at Rs.3,200 out of which Rs.1,600 is paid by oil companies and Rs.1,600 is paid by the government. However, the customer will need to pay Rs.1,600 to oil companies.   

    Under the EMI Deferment scheme which has been set by the government and oil companies, customers can take 14.2 kg cylinders and EMI will not be required to be paid for 6 cylinders. However, for the 7th cylinder, the EMI will need to be paid. However, if customers are purchasing the 5kg cylinders, EMIs will not have to be paid for 17 cylinders but be paid from the 18th cylinder.

  • Around 85 lakh PMUY beneficiaries have received LPG cylinders in April 2020

    The Government of India has announced pro-poor initiatives under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana as part of an economic response to COVID-19. As per the scheme, the government will provide free LPG refills to Ujjwala beneficiaries between the time period of April 2020 and June 2020.

    Oil marketing companies has initiated transfer of Rs.5,606 crore into 7.15 crore PMUY beneficiary accounts for availing free delivery of LPG cylinders under the PMGKY scheme. In this month itself, more than 1.26 crore cylinders have been booked by these beneficiaries. Out of these bookings, the PMUY beneficiaries have already received as many as 85 lakh cylinders.
