    The changes in the LPG cylinder prices this month has shown that the state-owned oil prices have remained unchanged for August. The subsidised LPG cylinder price is now Rs.594, and this is same rate as LPG cylinder prices in the market. Emkay Global had said that the oil companies' under-recovery for kerosene has come to a naught ever since March.

  • Prices of non-subsidised LPGs increased for the second day in a row

    The prices of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have been increased for the second month in a row on 1 July 2020. The prices have been increased in line with global prices.

    From 1 July 2020, the prices of non-subsidised 14.2 kg cylinders will cost Rs.594 in Mumbai and Delhi. In Delhi, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs.1. The price of LPG in Mumbai has been increased by Rs.3.5 for a cylinder. In June, the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder was increased by Rs.11.50. The prices of LPG cylinders have been increased in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata as well. The prices of LPG cylinders in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata have been increased by Rs.3.50, Rs.4.00, and Rs.4.50 and are at Rs.594, Rs.610.50, and Rs.620.50 for a cylinder, respectively. In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs.4. However, the price of a 19 kg cylinder has been increased in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. In Delhi, the price of a commercial cylinder has been reduced from Rs.1,139.50 to Rs.1,135.50. The prices of commercial cylinders in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata have been increased by Rs.3, Rs.1, and Rs.4 and are at Rs.1,090.50, Rs.1,255, and 1,197.50, respectively.

  • Price of domestic cooking gas surges

    The price of domestic cooking gas has surged as restrictions are being eased and India slowly opens up for business.

    The price of non-subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder in Delhi has been increased by Rs,11.50 for an Indane gas cylinder effective 1 June.

    The price of the LPG cylinders are revised by fuel retailers on the first day of every month, but the price is mainly dependent on the international benchmark rate of LPG and the exchange rate of US dollar and rupee.

    According to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell, the cost of the Indian basket of crude, which averaged $56.43 and $69.88 per barrel in FY18 and FY19, respectively, averaged $19.90 in April 2019.

    In New Delhi, the price of non-subsidised LPG was cut by Rs.162 which was the biggest cut for the product ever. The cut in prices was majorly due to the dropping of LPG and petroleum prices in the international market. With this, the price drop of LPG was cut down for the third consecutive time in the country.

  • Prices of LPG reduce on 1 April 2020 due to nationwide coronavirus lockdown

    Non-subsidised LPG prices were reduced on 1 April 2020 due to the lockdown that has been in effect because of the coronavirus outbreak. The prices of LPG cylinders have been reduced for the second day in a row. LPG prices in Delhi have been reduced by Rs.61 and is at Rs.744 for a 14.2 kg cylinder. Non-subsidised LPG cylinder prices in Mumbai have been reduced from Rs.776.50 to Rs.714.50. LPG cylinder prices in Chennai and Kolkata have been reduced to Rs.774.5 and Rs.761.5. The Indian government revises the prices of LPG every month. LPG prices are determined by the exchange rate of the rupee and the US dollar and the international benchmark rate.
