On the 5th of June every year, people, communities, and organisations around the world come together on World Environment Day to bring attention to and act on pressing environmental issues. World Environment Day was founded by the United Nations in order to promote the need to protect and preserve our planet’s natural resources.

World Environment Day was established by the UN General Assembly on 5 June 1972, as a day to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote action. Today, it is the world’s largest environmental advocacy event and is held annually on 5th of June. 

World Environment Day was first established on June 5, 1972, during the United Nations conference on the human environment. The conference was held from June 5 to 16, 1972, in Stockholm, Sweden. The summit was attended by world leaders and delegates who decided to establish World Environment Day to raise awareness and take action on environmental issues.
