History of International Youth Day

International Youth Day

In 1965, the United Nations General Assembly began focusing on initiatives that would affect youth. The Declaration on Fostering the Ideals of Peace, Mutual Respect, and Inter-Peace among Youth was endorsed by them. They began devoting time and resources to youth empowerment by finding up-and-coming leaders and equipping them with tools to address global issues. On December 17, 1999, the UN General Assembly approved the creation of International Youth Day at the recommendation of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth. Since August 12, 2000, when the day was first marked, it has functioned as a forum for social education. Involve youth in politics and manage the distribution of resources to address global concerns.

How is International Youth Day Celebrated?

The youth have their opinions heard on International Youth Day. It includes kids and aims to accomplish things that will provide them more opportunities by taking the initiative. The challenges and barriers to wealth that young people confront vary depending on where they live in the world. While mental and social problems are more common among youth in developed and developing countries, youth in impoverished countries suffer more since they cannot afford more basic necessities like work, education, and healthcare. At the municipal, institutional, and federal levels, these issues and challenges are regularly deliberated. Seminars, training sessions, discussions, debates, forums, fundraisers, and the distribution of educational materials aimed at enlightening and increasing awareness are all held on International Youth Day. If the problems preventing juvenile development are properly understood, then reforming policies will be easier.
