International Day of Human Fraternity 2026

The International Day of Human Fraternity was started because of an important event that was held in Abu Dhabi on 4 February 2019. In that event, Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayyeb signed a special document which is known as “Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together.” This document talks about peace, kindness, and understanding between people of different religions and cultures. In December 2020, the United Nations decided to make 4th February- the International Day of Human Fraternity. Since then, people all over the world celebrate this day every year to spread friendship, respect, and peace among everyone.
