International Day of Democracy is observed to highlight the significance of democracy and the many core values it upholds. It encourages bringing global attention to the numerous benefits of democracy. 

The International Day of Democracy upholds the three core elements of democracy: freedom, human rights, and fair elections. Democracy guarantees the human and fundamental rights of the citizens.
