In Andhra Pradesh, the state-run oil firms are responsible for deciding the LPG gas prices. The prices of LPG gas cylinders keep changing depending on the price of crude fuel globally. In Andhra Pradesh, increasing crude oil prices contribute to rising LPG prices. Similarly, if the crude oil prices reduce, LPG prices in the state will also reduce.
LPG is a versatile gas that has diverse uses in both domestic and industrial sectors. Economically weak individuals in Andhra Pradesh are offered LPG gas cylinders (14.2 kg) at subsidised rates. The subsidy will be sent immediately into the bank account of the consumer.

In the past few years, the use of domestic as well as non-domestic LPG cylinders has risen significantly in Andhra Pradesh. The government has made LPG gas cylinders more accessible to homes, which has resulted in higher consumption. In addition, in order to supply LPG cylinders at a lower cost, particularly for residential household usage, the government is giving a subsidy on LPG gas cylinders for household uses. Customers will receive the subsidy amount in their bank accounts linked with their LPG gas connections.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG) launched the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' (PMUY) as a flagship scheme in May 2016. The aim of this scheme was to provide LPG cylinders to the rural sections that were previously using traditional cooking fuels like coal, firewood, cow-dung cakes, and so on. Traditional cooking fuels have a negative influence on both rural women's health and the environment.
The Union Budget for FY 2021-22 revealed that 1 crore LPG cylinders will be provided to the beneficiaries under the PMUY scheme. Migrant families have been offered special facilities during this phase.
If you wish to apply for PMUY, follow the steps mentioned below:
