Engine Life

Type-1 Cascades: According to PESO, cylinders used in Type-1 cascade must be designed, built, and tested in accordance with the most recent version of IS 7285, BS 5045: Part-1, or (US) D.O.T 3AA. The material of the cylinder shall be seamless alloy steel (Cr-Mo), and the neck threading and thread must both comply with IS: 3224-1979. Closed valve must verify IS: 3224. Due of their affordability, type-1 cascades are common in Indian City Gas. To transport CNG from the mother station to the daughter booster stations, these can be employed as permanent or movable cascades. 
  2. 3000 water liter cascade: The most often utilised stationary cascade at CNG Stations is the 3000 WL cascade. It consists of 40 cylinders, each holding 75 litres of water. It can store about 530 kg of compressed natural gas at 250 bar and 0.7 kg/litres of gas density. This amount may vary from location to location. This is dependable because of its durable design, production, and testing. Because of its low cost, it is practical. 
  1. 4500 water liter cascade: A well-liked mobile cascade for transporting CNG from the mother station to the daughter booster stations is the 4500 WL cascade. It has occasionally been utilised as a stationary cascade to store additional CNG. It can hold about 630 kg of CNG, which can be filled and transported at 200 bars with a gas density of 0.7 kg per litre. This is dependable because of its durable design, production, and testing. It is currently the most popular cascade among mobile cascades. 
  2. Type 2 Cascade: Type-2 cascades are made of metallic cylinders that have partial, not complete, wrappings around them. Typically, wrapping is made of glass or carbon that has been mixed with epoxy or resin. Utilising non-metals has helped to reinforce it while reducing weight but increasing expense. 
  3. Type 3 Cascade: These cylindrical metal liners have a full outside wrap of composite reinforcement with fibres applied in full hoop and circumferential and helical and axial parts. Also, there are two of these. One is composed entirely of carbon composite, while the other combines carbon composite with glass fibre wrapping. These cylinders are used to hold more CNG and make cascades lower in weight. These are expensive. 
  4. Type 4 Cascade: Type 4 cylinders are made of a composite of HDPE and carbon fibre. This combination makes the cylinders extremely light and able to store the most CNG possible. Mobile cascades can now use Type-4 cascades in place of Type 3 and Type 1 cascades.
