  • Rs.9,000 crore to be invested by Adani Gas on distribution networks

Adani Gas Limited is all set to invest approximately Rs.9,000 crore on the set up of gas distribution networks in the coming 10 years. According to Suresh Manglani, the CEO of AGL, the company is moving at a tremendous pace to make sure that the recent commitments it has made can be achieved. As part of an initiative made by the government to increase natural gas share in the energy mix from 6.2% to 15% come the year 2030.

Mr. Manglani added that since India received independence, piped natural gas has been supplied to only 57 lakh homes, with only around 1,900 CNG stations having been set up across the country. He went on to say that the CGD industry is forecast for exponential growth as there is more clarity on the matter now than there was before. In September 2019, 6 Adani Gas projects were operating with 86 CNG stations that served more than 0.40 million customers, supplying 1.55 million standard cubic meters of gas a day. Adani Gas Limited intends on scaling up and increasing the count of CNG outlets to 1,550 in the next 6-7 years thereby ensuring that around 6 million households are connected with piped natural gas.
