The LPG Vitarak Chayan is a government initiative in India designed to expand the network of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distributors across the country. The scheme aims to make clean cooking fuel accessible to more households, especially in rural and remote areas.
Formats of LPG Distributorships
The four formats of LPG distributorships are:
Durgam Kshetriya Vitrak (DKV) | Established in difficult and special areas like hilly regions, forests, and sparsely populated areas where other formats are not feasible. |
Gramin Vitrak | Caters to rural areas and villages within a 15 km radius of the distributorship location. |
Rurban Vitrak | Located in urban areas but also serves specified rural areas, typically within a 15 km radius. |
Sheheri Vitrak | Serves urban areas within municipal limits. |
How to Register for LPG Vitrak Chayan?
Given below are the steps you will have to follow to register for LPG Vitrak Chayan:
- Visit the LPG Vitrak Chayan official website or click on the link to Vitrak Chayan Site.
- On the main page, click on 'Register'.
- A new page will appear on your screen where you will have to enter details such as your name, mobile number, email ID, gender, address, and pin code. You will have to enter a password which you will use to log in to the portal. In the next step, confirm the password. Enter the captcha in the next step, and click on 'Generate OTP'.
- A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number. Enter the OTP and follow the instructions thereafter to successfully register for LPG Vitrak Chayan.
How to Login to LPG Vitrak Chayan Portal?
- Visit the LPG Vitrak Chayan official website.
- On the main page, click on 'Login'.
- A new page will appear, where you will have to enter either your email ID or mobile number followed by the password.
- In the next step, enter the captcha in the box.
- Click on 'Login'.
- You will be successfully logged into the LPG Vitrak Chayan portal. You can now apply for draw of selection of the LPG distributorship as well as check the status of your application.
Eligibility Criteria
Some of the eligibility criteria one must meet to be eligible for LPG Vitrak Chayan are:
- You must be a resident of India.
- Minimum age of eligibility is 21 years and maximum are 60 years.
- You must have passed minimum 10th standard examination or its equivalent from a recognised board.
- No member of your family should be an employee of any OMC on the date of application.
Selection Process
- Advertisement: OMCs publish advertisements for new distributorship locations in newspapers and on the official portal.
- Draw of Lots: A computerized draw is conducted to select a candidate for each location.
- Field Verification of Credentials (FVC): The selected candidate's documents and the proposed land for the godown and showroom are verified.
- Letter of Intent (LOI): Upon successful verification, a Letter of Intent is issued to the selected candidate.
