The VISA Debit Card from United Bank of India is the ideal card for the average shopper. The bank has restrictions of 5 transactions a day up to Rs. 25,000 which helps budget daily expenditure and curb overspending. The debit card is also available to minors above the age of 10 and can help inculcate the habit of saving and spending wisely. NRIs are also eligible for this debit card provided they hold an NRO or NRE account with UBI. Transactions on the debit card are secured with an OTP (one-time password) which is required to authenticate the transaction.

Features of VISA Debit Card

  • Cash Withdrawal

Withdraw a maximum of Rs. 25,000 per day from ATMs with your United Bank of India VISA debit card. The card can be used at all United Bank of India ATMS, any VISA ATM and all NFS member bank ATMs.

  • POS and Online Transactions

Shop online or at retails stores through POS terminals for a maximum of Rs. 25,000 daily.

  • Secure Transactions

Your online and POS transactions carried out with your VISA debit card is secured with a One-time password (OTP) which will be sent to the registered mobile number of the cardholder.

  • Transaction Limits

A maximum of 5 transactions per day can be carried out which includes withdrawals and shopping.


The eligibility criteria for the United Bank of India VISA debit card is quite simple. You must hold a bank account at any United Bank of India branch in the country.

  • Customers who hold a savings, current, or overdraft account with United Bank of India.
  • Minors above the age of 10, who hold a minor account are also eligible.
  • Customers who have an NRE and NRO account with United Bank of India.

To be eligible for the UBI VISA Debit Card, you need to have a bank account with any branch of United Bank of India. The documents required while signing up for a bank account will suffice. You need to provide KYC compliance documents that include:

  • Proof of identification
  • Proof of residence
  • Recent passport photograph

You may submit any acceptable Government-issued documents such as PAN card, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Driver’s Licence, Utility bills and so on.

  1. Is the United Bank of India VISA Debit Card available to non-account holders?

    No, United Bank of India offers the VISA Debit Card only to customers who have any bank account with them. You must have either a regular savings account, a current or overdraft account, NRO/NRE account, or minor account, provided the minor is above 10 years old.

  2. What do I do if I lose my debit card?

    Report the loss of you card by calling the customer care number of UBI. The customer care is available in Hindi and English. You do not need to speak to any executive. You can block the card using your 16-digit card number or your bank account number.

    Alternatively, you can email the customer care.

    You can also hotlist the card using the E-banking facility online.

    After you have blocked the current card, you can request for a new one to be issued. You will be charged Rs.172 for the new card.

  3. The ATM swallowed my debit card. What do I do?

    If the ATM has retained your debit card, you can use the same process listed for loss of debit card. Inform the customer care via phone, email or online banking. The old card will be blocked and a new one will be issued.

  4. The ATM is declining my transaction, what is the reason?

    Your transaction could be declined because of the following reasons.

    • You have reached your maximum transaction limit for the day
    • You have insufficient balance in your bank account
    • Your card is damaged or unreadable
    • You entered the wrong PIN
    • Please call the customer care if needed, to find out more details about your particular transaction.
