United Bank of India offers an EMV Debit Card to customers who hold a bank account with them. The debit card is available to savings, current and overdraft account holders. The main benefit of this debit card is that it is secured with an EMV chip which helps prevent fraudulent activities and duplication. The card is valid internationally and is useful for anyone who travels abroad. The withdrawal and transaction limits are higher on this debit card compared to the basic VISA cards offered by the bank.

- EMV Chip Card
The card is embedded with a secured chip to prevent fraud and duplication.
- International Validity
The card is valid in India and abroad. You can take your card along with you when you travel to use at international locations.
- Secure Transactions
Every transaction carried out at the ATM requires a PIN. All transactions at POS terminals or online require an OTP (One-time password) which will be sent to the registered mobile number of the cardholder. The OTP will help prevent unauthorised transactions.
- Cash Withdrawal
Withdraw a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000 per day from ATMs with your United Bank of India EMV debit card. The EMV debit card can be used at all United Bank of India ATMs. The card can also be used at any VISA ATM and all NFS member bank ATMs.
- POS and Online Transactions
You can use your card online and at POS terminals. The maximum daily limit is set at Rs. 1,50,000 for these transactions.
- Transaction Limits
A maximum of 10 transactions can be carried out. The transaction limits are split equally over the ATM withdrawals and POS/online transactions.

In order to get the EMV debit card, you need a bank account with United Bank of India. While opening a bank account, you will need to submit the following documents. The debit card will be issued once you open the bank account.
- Recent passport photograph
- ID proof
- Address proof
You may submit any acceptable Government-issued documents such as Voter ID, Driver’s Licence, PAN card, Aadhaar Card, Utility bills and so on.

Can I avail of the EMV debit card without a bank account?
No, the EMV debit card is offered to customers with a savings, overdraft or current account. In order to use a debit card, you need to have a balance in your bank account as the money spent on your card will be deducted from your account.
My transaction was declined, what is the reason?
The transaction on your EMV Debit Card could be declined because of the following reasons.
- You have insufficient balance in your bank account
- You have reached your maximum transaction limit for the day
- Your card is damaged or unreadable
- You entered the wrong PIN
You can call the customer care to find out more details.
To report the loss of your EMV debit card, you need to call the customer care service of United Bank of India. You can choose Hindi or English. You need to provide your 16-digit debit card number or the number of your bank account.
You can report the loss of your card by emailing the customer care service.
Hotlisting and blocking your debit card is also available on the online banking facility.
If the ATM has swallowed your card, inform the customer care immediately. The card will be hotlisted and blocked. You can follow the same process as listed for loss of card. You can use any one of three channels to contact the customer care, i.e., phone, email or online banking.
You can request for a new debit card by contacting the customer care service via phone or email. You can also request for a new card through online banking. You will be charged Rs.172. The old card will be blocked and a new one will be issued.
