FAQs on RBL Bank NRI Fixed Deposit

  • What is the difference between NRE and NRO accounts?

    If you open an NRE FD account, then you can deposit your money in foreign currency. In case you open an NRO account, then the deposit is to be made in Indian rupees.

  • Can I alter my RBL FD tenure midway?

    No, once you have opened an NRI FD account with the bank, you can change the tenure. However, once the account is matured, you can reinvest the principal amount and interest earned and choose a tenure of your choice.

  • Is partial withdrawal facility available?

    Yes, the partial withdrawal facility is provided by the lender.

  • Can I open a joint NRI FD account?

    Yes, you can open a joint NRI account. However, you must note that the person with whom you wish to open an account must be an NRI as well.

  • I am a senior citizen and an NRI. Will I earn additional interest on my deposits?

    No, you will not earn additional interest on your deposits even if you are an NRI who is aged 60 years and above. If you are a senior citizen who resides in India and opens an FD account with RBL, then you will be eligible to receive additional interest on your deposits.
