    Deposits ranging between 148-59 days, the rate offered is an attractive 6% p.a. and is competitive as compared to other banking institutions.

    A considerably higher rate of 7.25% p.a. is offered by Standard Chartered India on fixed deposits with a tenor of 60-89 days.

    Similarly, deposits that range from 90-120 days are rewarded at an attractive interest rate of 7.75% p.a. which is extremely good when compared to the rates offered by other competing banks.

    A standard rate of 8% p.a. is offered for all deposits that have tenors ranging between 121-180 days.

    Deposits that have a tenor greater than 180 days and less than 365 days earn a rate of 8.1% p.a.

      The British bank Standard Chartered has established many of its branches across major commercial hubs in India. It has founded itself well among the Indian populace as a reliable and trustworthy bank. Standard Chartered has kept most of its offerings on par with the ones that are available from the Indian banks. However, since the lowering of repo rates by the Reserve Bank of India in turn affected most banks to reduce the interest rates on their credit facilities, Standard Chartered has also joined the league of banks that have reduced interest rates for savings and fixed deposits.

      As of November 2015, the lowest interest rate offered by Standard Chartered on its fixed deposits is at 4.25%. The interest rate is applicable for deposit tenures of one to two weeks. From a fortnight to 29 days, fixed deposits can enjoy an increased interest rate of 4.75% per annum. For 30 days to 44 days, the interest rate applicable is 5.25% per annum. From 45 days to 59 days, the applicable interest rate is 6.00% per annum. The highest rate of interest offered by Standard Chartered Bank is capped at 8.30% per annum which is valid for deposit tenures ranging from 376 days to 390 days.

    • Standard Chartered cuts back on Interest Rates for Fixed Deposits

      The 150 years old Standard Chartered Bank of India has been next in line to reduce the rates of interest on fixed deposits after the recently imposed repo rate cuts and directive by the Reserve Bank of India to pass on the benefits of reduced interest rates to customers. Interests on every product of banks have come down as a result, and in a bid to facilitate growth in CASA funds, Standard Chartered Bank India has also reduced interest rates for fixed deposits.

      For deposits of less than a crore, while relatively lower periods ranging from 7 days to 89 days have the same interest rates as before, while the period of 90-180 days have seen a drop to 7.5% from the earlier present 7.7% and 8%. Periods greater than 180 days till 375 days have seen a reduction of 0.1% and are now at 8%. 8.15% interest is now applicable for periods ranging from 376 days to 390 days only. Periods greater than 390 days bear the earlier rates of 7.25%.
