  • BMW reveals the 2021 range of the R Nine T motorcycles

    The 2021 range of the BMW R Nine T motorcycles have been revealed by the German automaker. In this new lineup, there are 4 different trims of the motorcycle – Standard, Scrambler, Pure, and Urban G/S.

    All the models are Euro 5 and BS VI compliant. The BMW R Nine T Series gets Dynamic Brake control along with ABS as a standard fitment. The engine powering the range of motorcycles also offer a stronger and better midrange grunt. The rear suspension setup has been updated as well and now it comes with travel-dependent damping or WAD. The engine powering the R Nine T series is a 1,170 cc, boxer engine which churns out 109 hp of max power at 7,250 rpm and 116 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The models also sport a typical neo-retro look with the round headlamp cluster, the slim tail, and the large fuel tank.

  • 2020 BMW G 310 GS launched in India

    German automaker BMW has recently launched the latest iteration of their BMW G 310 GS adventure motorcycle in India. The 2020 variant of the motorcycle has been priced at Rs.2.85 lakh which is almost Rs.64,000 less than the previous version of the motorcycle.

    The adventure motorcycle now comes with an updated engine which is compliant to the BS VI emission norms. The new 313 cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is capable of churning out 34 hp of max power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It also comes with a new ride-by-wire system along with a slipper clutch setup. The lighting system has also been upgraded to an all LED setup including the headlamp cluster, turn indicators, and the tail lamp. The color schemes for the motorcycle have also been updated. The BMW G 310 GS Style Rallye variant comes with a black base color with red and blue paintwork on it.

  • BMW motorcycles to get new colour schemes

    BMW Motorrad have revealed a number of updates that the 2020 motorcycles are set to get. The German automaker has also confirmed that the updated motorcycles will be up for sale in the international market by August 2019.

    The update includes a fresh paint scheme for most of the motorcycles. The BMW G 310 R is set to get a Cosmic Black colour scheme. The BMW G 310 GS, on the other hand, gets a Strato Blue Metallic colour scheme. The litre-class offerings from the automaker are also set to receive some updates. The BMW S 1000 R gets a new San Marino Blue Metallic colour scheme, while the BMW S 1000 RR gets the Hockenheim Silver Metallic colour scheme. A Carbon Package will also be offered for the S 1000 RR which will include carbon fibre parts for the fenders, fairing, chain guard, and so on. The prices of the optional equipment on the BMW F 750 GS, the BMW F 850 GS, and the BMW F 850 GS Adventure are expected to witness a drop of about 15%. The K 1600 models are also expected to come with new colour schemes and features.

  • 2019 BMW S1000RR launched in India

    The 2019 iteration of the BMW S1000RR has been one of the most anticipated motorcycles and it has finally set its tyres in India. The German automaker has launched 3 variants of the motorcycle. The variants include a Standard model which has been priced at Rs.18.50 lakh, a Pro model which has been priced at Rs.20.95 lakh, and a Pro M Sport mode which is priced at Rs.22.95 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).

    The engine on the motorcycle is a 999 cc, in-line four engine. The engine produces about 207 hp at 13,500 rpm and about 113 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. This marks an increase of 8 hp of power over and above the 2018 model. The engine also gets the BMW’s ShiftCam Technology which allows VVT, i.e. variable valve timing. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. There are a number of electronic techs which includes a six-axis IMU which powers cornering ABS and Dynamic Transaction Control (DTC), 4 riding modes, and so on. The Sport and M Sport variants get an additional Pro riding mode which includes the RACE Pro 1, RACE Pro 2, and RACE Pro 3. Braking responsibilities are taken care of by Brembos and suspension duties have been taken over by Marzocchi.

  • BMW decides to manufacture its smallest capacity motorbike, the G310R

    In alliance with the TVS group, BMW is looking to start the manufacture of G310R, the motorcycle with the smallest engine capacity in the range. The bike will also be exported to several foreign countries, including the US and European nations. The BMW G310R will be marketed under the popular Motorrad brand. The bike is expected to be launched by early 2017.

    The prices for the vehicle have not been released yet; however, it is expected to cost between Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 2.5 lakh. The bike will be manufactured at the TVS Motors plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The design of the vehicle was completed by BMW Motorrad in Munich.

    The motorcycle has an engine capacity of 313 cc and it is coupled to a gearbox generating a power of 34 BHP at 9500 RPM. It also generates a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7500RPM. The bike will have the ability to touch a top speed of 144 km/hr and it will be installed with attractive accessories.

    BMW along with a partnership with TVS Group is soon going to manufacture the company's smallest bike - G310R in India. They have specially targeted the Indian market. Later it will be exported to Germany and other countries. According to Frank Schloeder(President, BMW India), the bike might be available in the market from the first quarter of next year onwards. The prices will be between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh. The company is planning to manufacture the bike in Tamil Nadu. They have also come up with a special local version of the bike ‘Akula 310’. The bike will be equipped with an efficient engine with maximum power of 34 horsepower at 9,500 rpm. Apart from this, the company is also planning to give out customizable accessories for the bikes.

  • BMW Motorrad To Commence Operations in India By October 2016

    BMW is all set to launch the BMW Motorrad brand in India by October 2016. The German automaker confirmed that the Motorrad branch will make its entry in the Indian automobile market by October and operations will kick off from metros like Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi. According to reports, the TVS factory located in Tamil Nadu will serve as the manufacturing unit for the Motorrad brand.

    Also, according to reports, BMW is likely to launch the G310R, which will be assembled at the Hosur plant of TVS located in Tamil Nadu. The motorcycle features a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with 2 overhead camshafts and 4 valves, along with electronic fuel injection. The engine also features a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox and delivers a maximum power output of 34 bhp and maximum torque of 28 Nm.

    The BMW G310R will compete against rivals like the KTM Duke 390 and the Mahindra Mojo.
