  • TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launched

    The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been launched in the country at Rs.1.31 lakh. The bike has been updated with three riding modes, a preload-adjustable fork and adjustable clutch and brake levers. The updated RTR 200 4V costs around Rs 1,000 more than the standard dual-channel ABS variant. The biggest new feature on the bike are the three riding modes called Sport, Urban and Rain. These modes alter power and the ABS functionality to suit the riding conditions. According to the specifications, the RTR 200 4V now makes 20.8hp and 17.2Nm in Sport mode and 17.3hp and 16.5Nm in Urban and Rain mode. The company has also added a gear shift assist function which will help the rider by suggesting the optimum gear via arrows on the instrument cluster. The preload-adjustable fork feature along with adjustable clutch and brake levers have also been added to Apache RTR 200 4V. The bike also gets a new matte blue color scheme with red decals.

  • TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launched with single-channel ABS in India

    The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V was available in dual-channel ABS version only earlier. However, the Indian two wheeler giant has recently announced the launch of its single channel ABS version of the Apache RTR 200 4V.

    TVS has christened this version of their ABS as the TVS Super Moto ABS and will be channelised to the fore wheel only. No other chnages have been implemented to the motorcycle. The bike is powered by a 197.75 cc, single cylinder, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that churns out about 20.5 hp of max power at 8,500 rpm and 16.8 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It will be available in two colour schemes – Pearl White and Gloss Black and will come with a full LED headlamp cluster which is shared with its sibling. As for the price, the new variant of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been marked with a price tag of Rs.1,23,500 which is Rs.5,050 less than the dual-channel trim of the bike. It locks its horns against the Bajaj NS 200 single channel ABS trim which is priced at Rs.1,29,722.

  • TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 launched in India

    TVS has recently launched a fresh variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V which is powered by ethanol. The motorcycle has been christened as the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs.1.20 lakh. The motorcycle will be initially available only in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

    The motorcycle’s 197 cc, single-cylinder engine will churn out 21 hp of max power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The combustion ratio had to be increased to generate the same power figures which are identical to the petrol-powered engine. However, at present, there are no ethanol pumps in the country. Reports suggest that infrastructures are being built and will be made available soon enough. The price of a litre of ethanol can be expected to be around Rs.52 to Rs.55.

  • TVS Apache RTR 200 4V to be updated

    The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is up for an update and will be coming with a brand new LED headlamp unit. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been a game changer for the Indian automaker. The motorcycle was last updated in 2018 when it got a slipper clutch.

    The motorcycle will now get a fresh update and it is expected to come with an updated engine as well which will comply with the BS-VI norms. With all the updates lined up, a steady increase can be expected to be witnessed in the price tag of the motorcycle. The Apache RTR 200 4V already has a FI variant which is being sold at a premium of Rs.13,000 over the carburetted version. Spy images of the motorcycle have shown the LED headlamp setup. However, it is not clear if it is getting other cosmetic changes as well in addition to the headlamps. It is also to be revealed if the Apache RTR 160 4V comes with a similar setup. There have been no official words from the automaker in this respect.

  • TVS Ntorq launched in matte silver colour option

    TVS has launched a matte silver colour option for the TVS Ntorq. This colour scheme has been announced to celebrate the multiple awards that the scooter has won ever since its launch. The scooter has won multiple ‘Scooter of the Year’ awards.

    The new colour scheme will not be available in a drum brakes variant. It comes only with disc brakes and has been priced at Rs.59,995. The scooter also comes with a badge that reads ‘Scooter of the Year’. This badge will be found on the aprons of all the upcoming scooters as well. The scooter is now available in 7 different colour schemes – 2 metallic colours and 5 matter colours. The scooter is powered by a 124.8 cc, single-cylinder engine which churns out 9.4 hp of max power at 7,500 rpm and about 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It should be noted that the scooter has sold more than 1 lakh units within just 7 months of its launch.

  • TVS Scooty Pep+ now available in two new colour schemes

    Celebrating the 25th anniversary of TVS's popular scooter model Scooty Pep+, the company has decided to launch the vehicle in two new colour schemes. The Scooty Pep+ will now be available in red and gold as well apart from its standard line-up of colours like brown, black, blue, purple and pink.

    The scooty Pep+ SBT's new colour scheme is available at a price point of Rs 42,397. The scooters are equipped with synchronized braking technology (TVS' version of combined braking technology). The special edition scooters also feature a 25th anniversary logo on their aprons. Apart from these distinctions, the model has the same features as the previous Scooty Pep+ models. It has the same 87.8cc air ooled, single-cylinder engine that provides 4.9hp and 5.8Nm of torque. One of the lightest scooters in India, Scooty Pep+ weighs only 95 kg and features a compact design.

  • TVS launched 4 new models in Bangladesh

    TVS Motor Company has recently launched a new line-up of products in Bangladesh. The line-up consists of the following vehicles – the TVS XL100 Heavy Duty ‘i-Touch Start’ utility vehicle, the TVS Metro special edition, the TVS Max 125, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V single disc.

    The Managing Director of TVS Auto Bangladesh, J Ekram Hussain has commented that they are happy for introduce these new products in the market. The 3 motorcycles and the utility scooter share the same mechanical specifications which are found in the Indian variants. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V continues to be powered by the same 159.7 cc, single cylinder, 4-valve engine which is mated with a 5-speed gearbox. The TVS Metro special edition is a 100 cc motorcycle which shares the specifications with the TVS Sport City in India. The main idea behind this launch is to capture the growing two wheeler market in the country. The two wheelers that have been launched, belong to different segments of riding and TVS is looking forward to meeting the demands of the customers in Bangladesh by launching these as the first products for the segment.

  • Aprilia SR150 priced at Rs.67,000 is a must-have for sporty bikers

    Aprilia SR150, recently launched in India is the entry-point into the Italian bike brigade. Unlike Vespa, SR150 is about performance, and not retro-styling. It’s available in either black or white with slick grey and red decals. The mechanical bits are decently chunky with 14-inch 5-spoke alloys shod with soft, racy-looking 120/70 rubber. It has the signature Aprilia Italian colours motif on the instrument cluster shroud with a dual headlamp unit, a dual-tone seat, minimalist stop light at the rear with a split grab rail, and upswept exhaust. The engine is 150cc single-cylinder unit that makes 11.5 PS and 11.4 Nm. SR150 is 2kg heavier than Vespa. The handlebar, key slot, and seat are lower than regular scooters. It has separate 35/35W bulbs for the low and high beams powered by DC supply. The under-seat storage can hold a helmet, and has a USB charging port. It has a 6.5l fuel tank for a 150cc machine.

  • TVS sees 12% sales growth in October

    Hosur-based two wheeler manufacturer TVS has recorded a sales growth of over 12% for the month of October. This is a massive 12% growth to that of the firm’s sales figure recorded the previous year.

    The company has sold over 3,08,690 units in October 2016 as opposed to 2,74,622 units during the october of 2015.

    Among two wheelers, the company’s growth increased by 15.1% this October. During this period the TVS sold 3,03,885 units as opposed to 2,72,229 the previous year.

    Three wheeler sales however took a dip from 10,510 units to 4,805 this October. TVS also saw a decrease in export sales which reduced to 35,134 units when compared to sales of 41,682 last October.

  • Variants of Sports Bike and Star City+ Launched by TVS Motors

    TVS Motors, one of the leading two- and three-wheeler manufacturers, has released two variants of its renowned motorcycles, TVS Sport and Star City+ as we approach the festive season. Star City+ was launched in Spotlight White variant, and the Sport model was released in a Black Silver variant. Following the release of the new colour variant, Star City can now be purchased in 11 different colours, and the TVS Sport can be purchased in nine, according to a company statement. Arun Siddharth, the Vice-President of Marketing (Motorcycles) recently revealed that the company aims at adding more style to the overall riding experience with the new colour variants. Customers who purchase the vehicles are also urged to purchase two-wheeler insurance.
