News About PAN Card

  • Manual filing of ITR to avoid Aadhaar-PAN linkage

As per the earlier announcement, taxpayers were advised to link their Aadhaar to PAN since e-filing requires the furnishing of Aadhaar. Moreover, the government has also proposed to consider Aadhaar as the mandatory document for the application of Aadhaar. Considering the fact that many taxpayers are yet to enroll for their Aadhaar, this situation turned out to be a difficult task for most. However, since the manual filing of ITR doesn't require Aadhaar for this year, many taxpayers opted to carry out the ITR filing manually. Currently, Aadhaar is not only useful but also considered to be an important document to avail government's welfare benefits such as subsidy under PAHAL (DBTL), etc.

  • Track your lost Mutual Fund schemes with/without PAN

If you have a Mutual Fund scheme, you can easily trace the details of the scheme by using your PAN. All you need to is, request for a consolidated account statement that will have details of all the investment accounts. However, if your MF scheme was started on or before 2010, then there could be chances that your PAN card is not linked to your MF account. If your MF account was not linked to the PAN, you can contact your bank to obtain the details of your MF investment scheme account. You may require producing your registered phone number and/or various other details that were used while opening the MF scheme.
