How to check Aadhaar status by name at the official UIDAI website?

The UIDAI provides services for people to check the status of their Aadhaar on its website. The steps to search Aadhaar status with enrolment number at the UIDAI website has already been discussed.

However, it is not uncommon of people to forget the long chain of digits in their enrolment id number. In such cases, applicants often try to search for the status by providing their names, date of birth, mobile phone number, email address etc. Although these demographic details are mentioned in the acknowledgment slip received after the enrolment, there is unfortunately no provision to search Aadhaar status by name, phone number, and date of birth.

Aadhaar card status search is only possible when the applicants have their enrolment id at hand. However, there is no need to panic if one cannot remember his/her Aadhar EID number.

The UIDAI has provisions to retrieve Aadhaar Enrolment ID. The steps to search EID is already mentioned above.

UIDAI has no option to search Aadhaar status by phone number. But applicants can know their Aadhaar number via the registered mobile number.

In the event the Aadhaar Card has already been issued, then a text message will be sent to the applicant displaying his/her Aadhaar Card number. If the Aadhaar Card has not yet been generated then a text message will be sent displaying the present status of the card.

    • If EID number holders want to receive their Enrolment Number, then they have to choose the ‘Enrolment No (EID)’ option
    • Following this, they will be required to enter the following personal details in the spaces below:
      • Applicant’s full name
      • Email ID or mobile phone number (It is to be noted that it is compulsory to provide either the registered email id or registered mobile number in order to receive the lost EID/UID)
    • Enter the security code that is displayed on the screen, which is in the form of random numbers
    • Click the ‘Get OTP’ button
    • Once they have received the OTP in the email or mobile phone enter it in the ‘Enter OTP’ space
