Through these savings accounts, customers can carry out a number of banking procedures with ease - from fund transfers, requesting for a checkbook, check their bank statements for free, etc.

    Steps to Apply Online for HDFC Savings Account

    For customers that wish to open a savings account online, they will be required to follow the steps mentioned below:

    • Visit the HDFC Bank homepage.
    • On the bank page, click on “apply now”.
    • Choose “savings accounts” from the drop down list.
    • Enter the city you reside in.
    • Now, choose the savings account of your choice. First check the minimum balance requirement, rate of interest and eligibility criteria before selecting a particular account to open.
    • Next, you will have to upload the following documents for verification:
      • Latest passport size photographs.
      • Self-attested copy of identity proof - Passport, Voter’s ID, Driving license, etc.
      • Self-attested copy of address proof - Passport, Voter’s ID, Driving license, etc.
      • Copy of Aadhaar card.
    • One should ensure that the identity and address proof details mentioned in the application form match with the above mentioned documents.
    • Once the documents have been verified, the bank will get in touch with you.
    • On opening the account, the customer will receive a debit card, cheque book and passbook.

    Eligibility Criteria for Savings Max Account

    • Resident of India.
    • Hindu undivided family.
    • For foreign nationals residing in India who and wish to open an account temporarily, they can do so by submitting Form QA22 - proving proof of residence and source of income.

    Eligibility for Regular Savings Account

    To be eligible for the Regular Savings Account offered by HDFC Bank, customers need to meet certain eligibility criteria:

    • Any Indian resident is eligible to open either an individual or joint account.
    • Hindu undivided families are eligible as well.
    • For a foreign national to be eligible for this account, he/she should have resided in the country for a minimum of 180 days. The foreign national will have to submit his/her valid visa, passport, FRRO certificate, and Indian residence permit.

    Eligibility for Women’s Savings Account

    Customers need to meet certain criteria to be eligible for the HDFC Bank’s Women Savings Account:

    • An Indian resident can open an individual or a joint account.
    • In cases of a joint account, the primary account holder should be a women.
    • Foreign nationals can open this account too, provided that have resided in the country for a minimum of 180 days. He/she will have to submit a copy of their valid visa, passport, FRRO certificate, and Indian residence permit.

    Eligibility for Kid’s Advantage Account

    Parents have to open the Kid’s Advantage Account on behalf of their children. The parents or guardians of the child should either be:

    • Any Indian resident is eligible to open either an individual or joint account.
    • A foreign national that has resided in the country for a minimum of 180 days. The foreign national has to submit the following documents:
      • Valid visa
      • FRRO certificate
      • Indian residence permit
      • Copy of valid passport

    Eligibility for Senior Citizens Account

    • To be eligible for senior citizens account, the applicant has to be over the age of 60 years.
    • Should be a resident of India.
    • In case of a joint account, the primary account holder should be over 60 years old.

    Eligibility for Family Savings Group Account

    To be eligible for family savings group account, applicants need to meet certain eligibility criteria.

    • The customer has to already have an existing individual account to be eligible for this account.
    • A total of 2-4 accounts can be grouped together for the Family Savings Group Account.
    • Even NRI accounts can be grouped.
    • The primary account holder at any point cannot be a minor.

    Eligibility for Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account

    To be eligible for this account, applicants need to meet certain eligibility criteria:

    • Should be a resident of India.
    • Hindu undivided family.
    • Joint accounts can be opened provided the primary account holder is a resident of India.

    Eligibility for Institutional Savings Account

    Institutional savings account can be opened either by:
