How to Apply for Aadhaar Card in Assam

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number that can be obtained by residents of India. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is authorized to issue Aadhaar cards to Indian residents of all ages.

Aadhaar Card Registration by Visiting Enrolment Centers in Assam

The first step to enrolling one’s name for Aadhaar card is to search for an Aadhaar enrolment agency in Assam. An applicant can choose any of the enrolment centers nearest to his/her location and book an appointment for the registration of Aadhaar. On the date of appointment, the applicant has to keep in mind the following steps.

  • Step 1: Submit the Aadhaar enrolment form along with the identity proof documents (proof of age, proof of address, proof of identity).
  • Step 2:The submitted documents will be verified against the information entered in the application form, after which the individual’s biometrics will be taken.
  • Step 3: The biometric process includes taking an iris scan and all ten fingerprints. This is not done for applicants below the age of 5 years.
  • Step 4:An acknowledgement slip will then be generated which will contain the applicant’s Aadhaar enrolment ID.
  • Step 5: The applicant will receive their Aadhaar card by post at the address mentioned on the application form.

How to Check Aadhaar Status Online

After the procedures at the enrolment centre, applicants will receive an enrolment ID which can be used to check the status of Aadhaar. To check the status, one can follow these steps:

  • Step 1. Go to the official website UIDAI
  • Step 2. Click ‘Check Aadhaar status’ and enter the enrolment number.
  • Step 3. The applicants have to submit a security code.
  • Step 4. Click the ‘check status’ button.
  • Step 5. The status of the applicant’s Aadhaar card will be shown on the screen.

In case, the applicant has not received his/her Aadhaar card via mail which takes up to 90 days; the UIDAI provides online service to download and print the soft copy of Aadhaar card which is accepted everywhere.

How to Download Aadhaar Soft Copy with EID

The applicant can download his/her e-Aadhaar by simply following the steps mentioned below.

  • Step 1:Visit the official UIDAI website and click on ‘Download Aadhaar Card’.
  • Step 2:Under the ‘I Have’ tab, choose the relevant option ( in this case, the Enrolment ID).
  • Step 3:Fill in the details requested, such as applicant’s full name and pin code.
  • Step 4: Enter the captcha text and request for an OTP.
  • Step 5:After entering the OTP (which will be sent on the mobile number as filled in the application form), the applicant will be able to download a copy of the Aadhaar card.

  • Aadhaar enrolment centres opened

    With enrolment for Aadhaar once again starting in Assam, many Aadhaar enrolment centres are being set up in various parts of the state. Recently five Aadhaar enrolment centres have been opened at Doomdooma, have of late been opened at Doomdooma, a town in Tinsukia district of Assam. The centres which started functioning on Monday are set up in at Doomdooma Town Committee office, Doomdooma Revenue Circle Office, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) office, Talap Gaon Panchayat (GP) Office, and Deamoolie Gaon Panchayat (GP) office. It needs to be mentioned that the enrolment centre set up at the Doomdooma Town Committee office was inaugurated by Dulu Arandhana, the chairman of Doomdooma Town Committee  (DTC)in presence of verifying officer Pradip Baishya.

  • Enrolment process for Aadhaar to start soon in Udalguri

    Aadhaar enrolment is gaining momentum in the state of Assam and is soon expected to grip Udalguri district. As per sources, the Deputy Commissioner of the district will be acting as the Enrolment Agency under whose supervision the Aadhaar implementation work will be carried out. There has been a proposal for setting up as many as 37 Aadhaar card enrolment centres in the district to ensure that people can get their Aadhaar without much hassle. Of the 37 centres, six each are proposed to be set up under Kalaigaon revenue circle and Mazbat revenue circle, four under Khoirabari revenue circle, and ten centres under Harisinga revenue circle. One centre each will be set up at DC’s office, Revenue Circle Office; Hydro-Electricity project Orangajuli, SDO office of Dhansiri Irrigation Project, SDW Office Udalguri, Udalguri BDO office, Inspector of Schools, Udalguri; Office of EE, Dhansiri Irrigation Project Canal 1,  CDPO office, Rowta; Rowta IB and Rowta BDO. It needs to be mentioned that the data entry process would be supervised by Balaji construction company. The data entry activities have been entrusted to Balaji construction company after the country’s top court issued an order to prevent the misuse of personal data of the applicants.
