Eligibility for Aadhar Card

Aadhar card can be issued for any Indian resident regardless of their gender. This would include:

● Indian residents residing in India

● Newborns & children through a special category of Baal Aadhar.

● Non- Residential Indian with valid Indian passports & a stay of at least 182 days in India in the preceding year.

Documents Required to Apply for Aadhar Card

The EID is your 14-digit enrolment number (1234/12345/12345) coupled with the 14-digit date and time of enrolment (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss). These 28 digits together form your EID and can be found on the top of the acknowledgement slip.

  • Enter your EID. This includes the 14-digit enrolment number (ENO) and the 14-digit time and date format.
  • Enter the captcha provided.
  • Select 'Check Status'.
  • You will be redirected to a page which will give you the details of your Aadhaar application status.

If you seem to have misplaced your acknowledgement slip and do not have your EID, not to worry since you can still check the status of your Aadhaar application.

Here's how you can go about it:

  • Navigate to the page on the UIDAI website to retrieve lost or forgotten EID/UID.
  • Select the radio button for 'Enrolment ID (EID)'.
  • Enter your full name.
  • Enter your mobile number or email ID. Please ensure that your mobile number or email ID is the same as the one provided at the time of Aadhaar application.
  • Enter the captcha provided.
  • Select 'Send OTP' or 'Enter OTP'*.
  • You will be redirected to a page that will provide you with your EID.
  • Take a note of the EID and move to the page to check the status of your application.
  • Enter your EID.
  • Enter the captcha provided.
  • Select 'Check Status'.
  • You will then receive the status of your Aadhaar application.

The same method can even be used to check your Aadhaar status if you have requested for a change in your Aadhaar details, such as your address or phone number.
