How to download Aadhaar Card using WhatsApp

A facility to download the Aadhaar Card through WhatsApp is now provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India. The service is enabled by MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp.

With the help of this service, you can quickly and securely access your Aadhaar card without visiting any physical center or using a separate app. In order to use the service, you only need an Aadhar-linked mobile number and access to WhatsApp. You need to follow some simple steps to get a digital copy of your Aadhaar (e-Aadhaar) directly in your WhatsApp chat.

Steps to download Aadhaar using WhatsApp

By following the simple steps given below, you can download your Aadhaar Card by using WhatsApp:

1. On your phone, open contacts and save the new contact +91-9013151515 as “MyGov Helpdesk”
2. Open WhatsApp and send ‘Hi’ to “MyGov Helpdesk”
3. Chatbot will provide you with some options, and you have to select “DigiLocker Services”
4. To continue, confirm whether you already have a DigiLocker account. In case you do not have an account, then create by using the DigiLocker website or app.
5. For authentication, fill in your 12-digit Aadhaar number, and you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number
6. Enter that OTP in the chat, and the chatbot will show the list of documents that are available in your DigiLocker.
7. Select Aadhaar by typing in the required number, and your Aadhaar card will be sent to you in PDF format.
