Categories Not Eligible For PM-Kisan Scheme 

Certain categories of individuals are not eligible to receive benefits under the PM-Kisan scheme. The exclusions are as follows: 

Institutional Landlords: Farmers who hold agricultural land under organisations or institutions are not eligible for benefits under the scheme. 

Families holding high paying public offices: Families in which any member holds or has previously held any prominent public offices are excluded. This includes: 

• Current or former holders of constitutional posts 

• Current or former ministers and State ministers. 

• Current or former members of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, state legislative assemblies, or councils. 

• Current or former chairpersons of district panchayats. 

• Current or former mayors of municipal corporations.  

Government employees: The scheme does not cover families with members working or previously employed in government positions, including: 

• Employees of Central or State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). 

• Personnel working in autonomous bodies and attached government offices. 

• Officers and staff of central or state government ministries, departments, and field offices 

• Regular employees of local government bodies. 

• Exception: Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Class IV, and group D employees are eligible under the scheme. 

Pensioners: Retired individuals receiving a monthly pension of Rs.10,000 or more are not eligible for PM-Kisan benefits. 

Income tax payers: Individuals who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year are not eligible under the scheme. 

Professional practicing privately: People registered with professional bodies and actively practicing professions such as doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers, and chartered accountants are excluded from receiving scheme’s benefit.

Steps to Check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status Using Aadhaar Card

To check the status of PM Kisan, farmers will need to retrieve their registration number using Aadhaar if it is not available. This can be done through the “Know Your Registration Number” option on the official PM-Kisan portal. If a farmer already knows their registration number, they can skip using the Aadhaar card and directly check the status via the “Know Your Status” option on the homepage.

Step 1: Visit the official website of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.

Step 2: Go to the ‘Farmers Corner’ section on the homepage.· Click on the ‘Know Your Status’ option.

Step 3: Click on ‘Know Your Registration Number’, on the redirected page.

Step 4: Choose the ‘Aadhaar Number’ option.

Step 5: Enter your Aadhaar number and the displayed captcha code.

Step 6: Click on ‘Get Mobile OTP’.

Step 7: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

Step 8: Your registration number will be displayed after OTP verification.

Step 9: Return to the homepage and select ‘Know Your Status’ again.

Step 10: Enter your registration number and captcha code.

Step 11: Click on ‘Get OTP’.

Step 12: Enter the OTP.

Your PM-Kisan beneficiary status will be displayed on the screen.

Steps to Check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status Using Registration Number

Given below are the steps you can follow to know the status through Registration Number.

Step 1: Go to the official Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi website.

Step 2: Click on the option ‘Know Your Status’. Step 3: Fill in your PM Kisan Registration Number and Captcha Code. Step 4: Click 'Get OTP', which you can use to view your PM Kisan Beneficiary Status.

After OTP verification, the portal will display the farmer’s payment history, instalment details, and beneficiary status under the PM-Kisan scheme.

E-KYC Process for PM Kisan

The e-KYC process ensures PM-Kisan benefits are obtained by every eligible farmer directly in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, avoiding middlemen. Completing e-KYC is mandatory to receive the scheme's installments. There are different ways to update e-KYC for PM Kisan. These are as follows:

Through OTP (One Time Password)

The following are the steps to update e-KYC using OTP:

Step 1: Go to the official Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi website.

Step 2: On the homepage, select the ‘Farmers Corner’ section.

Step 3: Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option.

Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Step 5: Click on ‘Search’.

Step 6: Enter the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar number.

Step 7: Click on ‘Get Mobile OTP’.

Step 8: Enter the received OTP.

Step 9: Click ‘Submit’ to update the e-KYC process.

Through Biometric

To complete biometric e-KYC, eligible beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan scheme must update their fingerprints or scan their iris and below-mentioned are the steps to do so:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Common Service Centre (CSC) or State Seva Kendra (SSK) to find the nearest center.

Step 2: Go to the selected center and inform the authorities about the purpose of your visit.

Step 3: Submit the necessary documents, including your Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked to your bank account.

Step 4: The CSC or SSK official will guide you through the remaining steps to update your biometric e-KYC details.

Through Face Authentication

To receive three equal installments provided under this scheme, beneficiaries can complete the e-KYC process by facial authentication. Here are the steps to do so:

Step 1: Download and install both the PM-Kisan mobile app and the Aadhaar Face RD app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Open the PM-Kisan app.

Step 3: Log into the app using your credentials.

Step 4: Go to the beneficiary status page and check whether your e-KYC is marked as completed and details are updated or not.

Step 5: If the status shows ‘Yes’, no further action is needed.

Step 6: Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option to begin verification, if it shows ‘No’.

Step 7: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Step 8: For face scanning, allow the app to access your camera.

Step 9: The e-KYC process will be marked as complete, once your face is successfully scanned.
