Indus Pay is the Unified Payment Interface application of IndusInd Bank that enables customers to send as well as receive money and pay merchants via UPI. Customers can create a VPA, or a Virtual Payment Address, which will be linked to their savings bank accounts and these accounts can be used to send and receive funds.
The VPA serves as a distinctive payment identifier so far as bank customers are concerned. Customers can also use the Unified Payment Interface to make payments to merchants who accept it as a mode of payment. The IndusMobile application can enable Person to Person (P2P) as well as Person to Merchants (P2M) payments in a speedy and hassle-free manner.

In order to register for the Indus Mobile service, customers will have to send a text message: "IndusMobile" to 5676757. Once the message has been sent, the bank shall give a call on the mobile number to confirm the details presented by the customer in order to register the number. An alternative way to register your mobile number of IndusMobile is to visit an IndusInd Bank ATM and select the IndusMobile Registration option though which you can confirm your mobile number. Your primary account will also have to be confirmed in case you wish to make mobile banking transactions in the future. Another alternative to the aforementioned options is to call the contact centre of IndusInd Bank and request any of the bank's service representatives to help you in going through the process of IndusMobile Registration.
Registration of your mobile number to use the UPI of IndusInd Bank can also be done over the internet. All you will have to do is make a request through your Net Banking account to register your mobile number on the service request link. Once your mobile number has been registered with the bank, you shall get an SMS which will present to you the web-link through which you can download the IndusMobile application. The SMS will also contain other details such as your application password, your MPIN and your SMS PIN. Your SMS PIN and your MPIN will have to be modified before you can start using your IndusMobile application. The MPIN can be modified using the IndusMobile application. Your SMS PIN can be changed by sending a text message: CHANGEPINOLDPINNEWPINNEWPIN to +919223173927. After completing all of the aforementioned steps, you will have to generate your MMID which can be done by simply sending a text message: MMID to 9223173927.
In order to send funds using the IndusMobile Application, customers will first have to log in to the IndusMobile application and choose the "Banking" option on the menu. You will then have to choose "Fund Transfer" and then "To other bank". Then, you will have to choose "IMPS" and then choose "Quick IMPS". Then, you will be required to select your account number before entering the mobile number as well as the MMID of the beneficiary along with the amount you wish to transfer using IndusMobile SMS. All you have to do is send IMPS Beneficiary Mobile Number Beneficiary MMIDSMSPIN to +919223173927.
In order to receive funds using the IndusMobile Application, you will first have to register your cell phone number with your bank account number. After that, you will have to receive an MMID from the bank. Your mobile number will have to be shared along with your MMID to the sender. You will then have to request the sender to send the funds and then an SMS confirmation will be sent to you telling you the amount of money that you have received through IMPS.
The bank does not charge a fee for customers who wish to use the IndusMobile application, but there are limits set for amount transfers. For money sent through USSD and SMS, the limit is Rs.5000 in both cases. For money sent through application, the limit will be Rs.50,000.
UPI or Unified Payment Interface as it is known in its extended form, is a platform that allows all individuals who hold bank accounts (in banks that participate in UPI) to send as well as receive funds using their smartphones.
