As premium motorcycles and sports bikes make their way to India, people in the country are becoming increasingly interested in travel, adventure, and biking. With rising living standards in Chhattisgarh and improvement of road infrastructure, the state is home to a large number of motorcycle enthusiasts. Motorcycle buyers in Chhattisgarh are not only keen on selecting the best bikes that can give them the adrenalin rush, they also do not mind spending some extra cash on making their precious vehicles look special. One of such ways is getting a fancy two-wheeler number that can represent the persona of the rider as well as give a special identity to the vehicle. In recent years, the demand for vehicle registration numbers like 0001, 9999, 3333, 8055 (reads ‘BOSS’), 786 (Islamic number), and more has significantly increased. However, due to immense competition, it is difficult for people to get their desired registration mark.
Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2000. This is why the process of obtaining fancy registration numbers in both the states is nearly the same. To bring greater transparency in the process of fancy number allocation, the Chhattisgarh Transport Department has developed an online platform where fancy vehicle number seekers can register themselves and participate in the online auction to try their luck in getting the number they desire the most. The e-auction system implemented by the Chhattisgarh Transport Department facilitates assignment of premium vehicle registration numbers on a first-come-first-serve basis or through auction if there are more number of applicants for a specific registration number.
Details Included In A Vehicle Registration Mark
A Registration Certificate, PUC, and a two wheeler insurance certificate are necessary documents which a motorcycle must have. The registration mark of a vehicle provides significant information about a vehicle. The first two-letter code in the vehicle number plate represents the state in which a vehicle is registered. A few examples are CG for Chhattisgarh, MP for Madhya Pradesh, and MH for Maharashtra. The second part of the registration mark is the two-digit code that represents the code assigned to the RTO where a vehicle is registered. The third important detail that the vehicle number plate is the registration number allotted to the vehicle. This is usually from the range of 0001 to 9999. If all the numbers from the said range are allotted, two more letters are added before the registration number and the same range is reused.
