    Lonavala/Khandala

    Lonavala and Khandala are two of the best known places not only in Mumbai but in India too. In spite of the fact that the Mumbai– Pune Expressway is an astounding path to ride on, bikes are not permitted on this road. Two-wheeler riders can take the Old Mumbai– Pune highway which is perfect for a stress-free ride.You may also visit the Rajmachi Fort which is just 15 kms ride from Lonavala. The best time to visit these places is after the first rain of the monsoon season. Khandala is just about 5 kms away from Lonavala and has various historical forts strongholds, valleys, waterfalls, and lakes.

    Kashid/Murud

    Mahabaleshwar

The trip from Mumbai to Kamshet via Mumbai– Pune Expressway and is an amazing experience. The hills around Kamshet has caves, hill stations, and fortresses make for a satisfying view.

    Situated about 20 kms from Kamshet is the Kondeshwar Cliff where you may enjoy paragliding from the height of 2200 feet. One can also visit Shelar for low height thermal paragliding.

    Matheran

A road trip from Mumbai takes you to the beautiful hinterlands of Matheran. There are no private vehicles permitted in this zone and you will require hand pulled rickshaws or horses to reach the place. Else, you can simply go for a short trek to Matheran.

The best time to visit the place is between July to September. You may also visit the Shivneri Fort which is 40 km away from Malshej Ghat. It is the birthplace of great maratha ruler - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
