Know Your Customer (KYC) is a digital identity verification process undertaken by the bank representatives during the process of account opening.  

This KYC digital process allows customers to conveniently complete the account opening process as opposed to physically visiting the bank to complete it.  

The KYC process invokes identity verification through Aadhaar and OTP authentication, followed by a video call with the bank representative for an audio-video based verification. 

How to Open HDFC Savings Account Through Video KYC? 

The following is a step-by-step guide on opening an HDFC savings account through video KYC: 

  1.  Firstly, complete your digital account opening process through Aadhaar OTP based E-KYC 
  1. Next, give consent for the video KYC option, after which the page will be re-directed to the final account opening page 
  1. A link will be sent via SMS which is valid for three days from the time it's generated 
  1. Click on the link on the final page to start the video KYC process and then provide access for camera, microphone and location 
  1. The bank representative, on the video call, will click a photograph and will verify your PAN number and signature 
  1. Once the KYC process is successfully completed, the HDFC account will be activated. The account can also be upgraded to the account of your choice 

 Note - The HDFC Bank video KYC service desk is operational between 10:00 am to 11:59 pm on all days including Saturdays and Sundays. 

Documents Required for the HDFC Video KYC Process 

 The following are the documents required for the video KYC process: 

  1. Aadhaar Card (Make sure your Aadhaar Card is linked to your mobile number) 
  1. PAN card 
  1. Blank white sheet paper with blue or black pen for signature verification
