How To Apply For A Passport Offline In Ahmedabad

A PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) is a specially designated centre for processing passport applications. These centres process both offline as well as online applications. The PSK can also be used to submit offline passport applications without an appointment in certain cases, as outlined below:

    As per a 2017 document released by the Ministry of External Affairs while inviting tenders for printers at its Regional Passport Offices (RPOs), Lucknow RPO issued an average of 3,081 passports per working day between 2014 and 2016. Apart from Lucknow RPO, the Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Delhi issued over 2,000 passports a day during the same period. Lucknow RPO issued over 22 lakh passports out of the total 2.87 passports issued in the country during 2014 and 2016.

  • Ahmedabad RPO processed over 6L passport application in 2017

    The ease in passport and visa application policy by the Government of India has resulted in an increase in passport application throughout India. The Ahmedabad RPO has processed over 6 lakh passport applications in 2017. Considering the large volume of applications, the Government of India has decided to add eight more Post Office Passport Seva Kendra’s in 2018. Additionally, the government will add more staff to the Ahmedabad RPO in 2018. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also decided to offered multi-color passports for the Emigration Check Required (ECR) and Emigration Check Not Required (ECNR) category. With host of changes in 2018, the Government of India is all set to provide fast and efficient passport and visa services.
