Passport Address Change

This is a mandatory document if you wish to travel abroad and identifies you as a citizen of the issuing country. It also serves as identification proof and is accepted widely for all purposes.  A passport does not guarantee entry into your destination country. News related to How To Change The Address In Passport

  • New passports to be issued without the printed last page

On Friday, January 12, the Ministry of External Affairs announced that new passports will be soon issued without the printed last page which has the name of the parents, and the address of the person.

However, for the current passport holders, the new booklet will continue to display the parent’s name and the address, as stated in the previous booklets.

The decision came in after a three-member committee, comprising officials from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, looked into the issues regarding the passport applications where the mother/child requested that the name of the father should not be printed in the passport. Similar issues were also observed in the applications of a single parent with children and those parents with adopted children.

The Ministry of External Affairs also consulted with the International Civil Aviation Organization regarding the feasibility of passports without the last page, to arrive at the decision.
