  • The official portal of Real Estate Regulatory Authority Karnataka (RERA Karnataka) is developed under section 4.3 of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Act, 2016. The RERA Act, 2016 was introduced to reform the real estate segment of the country, thereby encouraging better transparency, citizen centricity, financial disciple and accountability. 

    RERA Karnataka Fees & Charges

    The following tables give you the full list of the fees applicable for various types of projects in Karnataka.

    Group Housing Project

    Particulars Applicable Fees
    Area of proposed land for development is not more than 1,000 square meters Rs.5/square meter
    Projects in which area of proposed land for development is more than 1,000 square meters Rs.10/square meter (maximum of Rs.5 lakh)

    Mixed Development (commercial and residential) Project

    Particulars Applicable Fees
    Area of proposed land for development is not more than 1,000 square meters Rs.10/square meter
    Projects in which area of proposed land for development is more than 1,000 square meters Rs.15/square meter (maximum of Rs.7 lakh)

    Commercial Projects

    Particulars Applicable Fees
    Area of proposed land for development is not more than 1,000 square meters Rs.20/square meter
    Projects in which area of proposed land for development is more than 1,000 square meters Rs.25/square meter (maximum of Rs.10 lakh)

    Plotted Development Projects

    Rs.5/square meter of the total area of the plot. The maximum fee is Rs.5 lakh.

    RERA Act for Karnataka Real Estate Agents

    The real estate agent must pay Rs.25,000 as registration fees if he is an individual. In every other case, the registration fee is Rs.2 lakh.

    In addition to this, every real estate agent should provide the following documents in addition to any other requested information and forms for registration:

    • Brief information of the agency along with its name, type of business, address, societies, partnerships, proprietorship, and more.
    • Details of registration of the enterprise including the MOA, AOA, and the bye-laws.
    • If the agent is an individual, details of his name, contact details, and address. In any other case, full details and photographs of the directors or partners.
    • PAN card copy (self-authorised).
    • Copy of the address of the business (self-authorised).

    Protection for Karantaka Real Estate Buyers

    In case you want to register a complaint about any violation committed under this Act, you can do so with the Adjudicating Officer or the Regulatory Authority. You will have to take a Demand Draft (DD) to the extent of Rs.1,000 to file your complaint.

    How to Register in RERA Karnataka

    To register, follow the below process: 

    • Visit Rera Karnataka official website.  
    • Visit rera karnataka website
    • Select ‘Registration’ from the drop-down menu. 
    • select registration
    • You’ll have five choices, which are: Project Registration/Complaint Registration/Apply for Extension/Change Request/Post Registration and Quarterly Update. 
    • You’ll be directed to go through the checklist in order to keep all required documents ready for the registration process. 
    • The next page lets you choose the promoter type (Individual or Societies/Company/Partnership Firm/Development Authority/Trust Agents. 
    • Now, enter your Email ID. 
    • Follow the process to register the project.

    For promoter type other than individual, apart from the above set of documents, company registration certificate is required to be uploaded.
