    Overview:

The DDA’s main function include their scheme which includes the construction of residential apartments based on different classifications which include Higher Income Group, Middle Income Group, Lower Income Group along with Janta, etc. The following steps show how landor flats are allotted and bought thereon:

    1. Once the apartments are ready or the plots have been made available for sale in any project plots and flats are put up for allotment for the already registered applicants.
    2. The applicants should already be registered under the different types of Housing Registration Schemes that include the categories of LIG, Janta etc. For people belonging to the HIG as well as the MIG category, apartments are made available as well.
    3. Potential buying applications are given invitations with the help of public notice that is posted in the leading newspapers in Hindi as well as English.
    4. Also for registration and registration money postings on newspapers are made.
    5. The brochure can be then bought, which consists of literature including terms and conditions along with the eligibility criteria available at the DDA sale counter at Vikas Sadan, INA along with other designated banks such as AXIS Bank.
    6. Allotment of these apartments are done through computerized draw where applications are scrutinized through the application of a computed algorithm based on eligibility criteria and the terms & conditions.
    7. The location choices are provided, however the floor choice or allotment in a particular Sector/Pkt is not allowed since the allotment of the specific apartment is conducted through a computerized draw. This pretty much works like seat reservation for train tickets in the IRNA, where you can choose your train and class but not the seats you are actually allocated.
    8. P.H. category of registrants who fall into 1% quota, also have separate reservations.

    DDA Housing Scheme for Plots:

Based on the definitions set by DDA, a plot is considered generally as an area of land where a a small house can be constructed by the applicant or by a company. The plot can be used for constructing a house as a residence or a small commercial shop. Also residential land is taken by builders for constructing larger buildings which are luxurious, part of a much larger plot. The smaller plots are sufficient for nuclear family. Plots sizes are variable and are measured in Gaj = Yard = Meter. The plots are available at units of 1000, 500, 300, 200, 150 and 50. The general size is 50 and 150. However, the Housing Board plots are allotted in square meters which could range between 50 square meters, 70 square meters, 166 square meters and more.

How to Register For a Plot or Apartment Online:

Even a few years back people had to apply in person by submitted a hand-filled application and submit it in the office or at the designated banks. But no longer is this process as tedious as it used to be. people submitted application by hand fill up in the office. The worst part was the long queues which used to consist of men and women standing in the heat of extreme weathers experienced in Delhi/NCR.

With the help of Internet, things have changed. People can apply and register for a plot or an apartment online at the DDA portal. Online, you can find forms for housing board plots and invites which simply need to be filled up the and there and simply submit it in the portal. The DDA has announced that the flats will be allotted on a freehold basis and the restriction on the execution of the conveyance deed, which did not permit the allottee to sell the flat for five years after possession, will be removed. Of the 13,000 flats on offer, 11,544 flats were surrendered from 2014’s housing scheme. The price of these flats will remain the same as they were in 2014.

In this year’s offering that involves allotment of 13,000 flats, just 350 flats are to be allotted to Middle Income Groups while the remaining comprise of 1-room flats and Janata flats. In a related development, the Central Reserve Police Force requested the allocation of 600 flats, a decision on which is currently pending.
