Registering a newly purchased vehicle in Delhi is a mandatory step which is managed by Delhi regional transport office (RTO). Registration confirms your legal ownership and provides a registration certificate (RC). It also helps with insurance claims, selling, or transferring vehicle ownership.

- Is it mandatory to carry the original registration certificate of my vehicle?
Yes, it is mandatory to keep the original registration certificate with your vehicle when plying on public roads. As per the rules, you can be prosecuted by the court if you are driving or riding your vehicle and are caught not carrying the prescribed documents.
