Senior citizens (aged 60 years and above) earn an additional 0.75% p.a. over the card rate on resident Fixed Deposits of below Rs.3 crore for a tenure of 2 years to 3 years, and an additional 0.50% p.a. for all other tenures. This benefit is not available on NRE and NRO deposits. 

Interest is compounded quarterly, and simple interest is paid on maturity for deposits with a tenure of up to 180 days. 

A penal interest of 1% applies on premature withdrawal of an IndusInd Bank Fixed Deposit. It is waived for resident senior citizen Fixed Deposits of below Rs.5 crore with a tenure of 1 year or above.
