The driving licence test in Kolkata, as in the rest of the country, is defined according to the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988. A Motor Vehicle Inspector serves as the invigilator for the driving licence test. To take this test, you must use your vehicle which must be of the same category as the one you are seeking a driving licence for. You can also use a vehicle from the motor driving school if you don’t have the required one.
When it comes to a driving licence test for a two-wheeler or a three-wheeler, you must ride your vehicle within a boundary in such a manner that it forms an imaginary pattern of ‘8’. However, you shouldn’t stop your vehicle throughout this test. If the invigilator is satisfied, you will be asked to ride on a public road with the invigilator as a pillion rider.
During a four-wheeler driving licence test, your driving ability will be tested based on how you drive on a specially constructed track while staying within the boundary. If the invigilator is satisfied with your driving, you will be required to drive in real-world situations. In case you fail a driving licence test, you can retake the test within seven days by paying a nominal fee.
Here are some tips you should remember to pass the driving test:
