Telangana, the newest state (Capital City: Hyderabad) in India has an extensive network of roadways, connecting different parts of the country. In Hyderabad, it has a vast metropolis filled with people, ensuring that it has a sizeable vehicle population. The cost of a new vehicle in Telangana is determined after adding a lifetime road tax on the showroom price, with the road tax being used to improve the roads and infrastructure facility in the state. The current road tax in Telangana falls under the purview of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act of 1963, with the state adopting the measures incorporated under this Act.
