The Standard Training Assessment and Reward (STAR) Scheme is an initiative of Indian government launched in 2013 to encourage youth skill development through training, assessment, and monetary rewards.
The scheme aims to raise the number of skilled workers in India by providing them with financial incentives, training and get certificates under NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) approved programs.
Any individual who is an Indian citizen and have completed the years of 18 years and must have completed 10th standard is eligible to get certified by NSDC under the STAR scheme
The STAR Scheme helps young population to gain industry-recognised certificates and enhance their chance of getting better opportunities by promoting a culture of skill-based learning in India.
The scheme is implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
