Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Scheme 2025

The Government of Haryana introduced the “Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Scheme” in January 2015, aimed at improving the child-sex ratio and promoting the welfare of girls. By providing monetary benefits to secure their daughter’s future, this financial scheme provides parents with the motivation to value their daughters.

How does this scheme work?

Under the initiative, the Haryana government deposits Rs. 21,000 with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in the name of the eligible girl child. The money will be paid when the girl child turns 18. Initially the program only aimed to provide monetary benefits for the first girl child of SC/BPL families, and the second girl child of all families. Later, the program was amended to include twin girls born on or after 24 August 2015 as well as for the third girl child.  

Goals of the Scheme

  1. Promoting the birth and upbringing of girls to improve the child sex ratio. 
  1. Ensuring girls' survival, health, and education is important. 
  1. Ensuring that girls are able to attend school and remain in school by providing economic security. 
  1. Connecting scheme benefits adulthood (18 years) in order to delay young marriages. 
  1. Promoting long-term savings and economic participation in the name of the girls.  

Eligibility criteria for this Scheme

  1. Girls must be born on or after 22 January 2015. 
  1. The family must be resident of Haryana on a permanent basis. 

The following categories are also eligible: 

  1. The first girl born in a SC family or BPL family. 
  1. All families with a second girl child. 
  1. Twins or multiple, and the third girl born on and after 24 August 2015 

Scheme Disbursement

  1. Under the name of the first girl child, the government invests Rs. 21,000 in LIC. 
  1. For 5 years, families who had a second girl child born before 22 January 2015 received Rs. 5000 every year. 
  1. For 5 years, twins born before 22 January 2015, received Rs. 2500 every year.  
  1. By October 2023, about 4.6 Lakh girls have benefitted from this scheme.

How to Apply 

Here’s how you can apply for this scheme, through both offline and online methods. 

Offline method

  1. You can obtain the application form from the Women and Child Development Office or the nearest Anganwadi Centre.  
  2. Fill out all the details correctly and submit the required documents 
  • Aadhaar cards of the parents and children. 
  • Birth certificate of the girl child. 
  • BPL/SC Certificate (if applicable). 
  • Proof of residence in Haryana. 
  • One passport size photo.
  1. The completed form should be submitted to the Women and Child Development office, Primary Health Centre, or Anganwadi Centre.

Online Method 

  • Open the Saral Haryana Portal. 
  • Search for Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Scheme. 
  • Complete the file online and attach scanned copies of your required documents. 
  • Fill out the file online and save your application ID for later use.

    No, we cannot withdraw the money before the girl turns 18; the total amount is invested with LIC.

    If the girl gets married before she turns 18, then she will not receive any benefits from the scheme.
