The Government of Haryana introduced the “Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Scheme” in January 2015, aimed at improving the child-sex ratio and promoting the welfare of girls. By providing monetary benefits to secure their daughter’s future, this financial scheme provides parents with the motivation to value their daughters.
Under the initiative, the Haryana government deposits Rs. 21,000 with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in the name of the eligible girl child. The money will be paid when the girl child turns 18. Initially the program only aimed to provide monetary benefits for the first girl child of SC/BPL families, and the second girl child of all families. Later, the program was amended to include twin girls born on or after 24 August 2015 as well as for the third girl child.

No, we cannot withdraw the money before the girl turns 18; the total amount is invested with LIC.
If the girl gets married before she turns 18, then she will not receive any benefits from the scheme.
