Types of Fixed Deposits

  • Cumulative FD: In the case of cumulative fixed deposits, the interest payment is made at the time of maturity along with the principal.
  • Annual income: Interest payment will be made to the deposit holder at the end of each year.
  • Quarterly income: Interest amount will be credited to the bank account of the customer on a quarterly basis.

SIDBI FD: Features

  1. The minimum deposit amount is Rs.10,000, after which deposits can be made in multiples of Rs.1,000.
  2. An FD should be opened for a minimum tenure of at least 1 year, while the maximum tenure can go up to 5 years.
  3. All senior citizens will get an additional interest rate of 0.50% p.a.
  4. Depositors can avail a nomination facility on both single and joint accounts.
  5. Interest payments are made on quarterly or yearly basis, or at the time of maturity.
  6. Cumulative and non-cumulative SIDBI FD schemes available.

  1. All resident individuals
  2. Minors along with their legal guardians
  3. Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)
  4. Partnership firms
