Janata Sahakari Bank fixed deposits give a good rate of return and the bank also offers various investment options for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

    Janata short-term deposit rates

    • A comparatively high interest rate is offered by the bank on the short-term deposit schemes, making it a good investment option for those who do not want to lock-in their funds for longer durations.
    • Even an investment made for as short a duration as 7 days to 30 days will fetch a return at the rate of 5.00% p.a.
    • A 0.50% additional interest rate will be paid for a tenure of 31 days to 90 days, making the gain rate stand at the rate of 5.50% p.a.
    • For 91 days to 180 days, the bank will offer the customer 5.75% p.a. and for 181 days to less than 1 year, the rate paid will be 6.25% p.a.

     Janata medium & long-term deposit rates

    • The tenure for a medium term-fixed deposit is from a minimum of 1 year to 5 years.
    • The interest rate that is given out to depositors ranges from 7.00% p.a. to 7.25% p.a.
    • For any fixed deposit that is kept in the bank from 1 year to 3 years, the rate at which interest payment is made will be 7.25% p.a. This is the highest FD rate paid by Janata Bank on fixed deposits.
    • On the other hand, all investments that are made in fixed deposit schemes for more than 3 years, will give the account-holder returns at the rate of 7.00% p.a.
    • The 5-year tax saving scheme will also give the deposit holder interest at the rate of 7.00% p.a.

    Janata senior citizen deposit rates

    • Janata Bank does pay senior citizens a higher rate of interest but only on certain selected tenure ranges.
    • Higher interest rates are paid for all time deposits that are held in the bank for a period of 12 months or more.
    • For example, for 12 months to 3 years, the senior citizen rate is 7.50% p.a., which is 0.25% higher than the rate that is paid to regular individuals.
    • For any investment made for less than 12 months, the rate paid for this category of investors will be the same as that given to regular category of investors who are less than 60 years of age.
    • For an investment made for more than 3 years, the rate paid will be 7.25% p.a. as compared to the rate paid to regular investors, which is 0.25% lesser.

The form has to be duly filled in with all relevant details. Customers can choose the interest payout method and other features.
