  • Visit https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.
  • Click on ‘Driving License Related Services’. The option can be found under the ‘Online Services’ tab.
  • On the next page, select the state.
  • Next, click on ‘Apply for Learner License’.

  • Online payment system launched in transport departments of Mizoram

    On Wednesday, the Mizoram government launched online payment system in the transport department offices of the state. The state’s transport minister launched the online payment system. The online payment system has been developed by the department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and State Bank of India (SBI). It can be accessed by users anywhere and anytime to ensure ease of payment and avoid physical cash transactions at cash counters. It needs to be mentioned here that the transport department had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBI on June 5 last year. NIC was roped in to host and design the software and also to provide all necessary technical support.

    The online payment system is broadly divided into two components. The first component called ‘Vahan’ deals with registration of new vehicles, renewal of permit, issue of duplicate permit, tax payment, issue of special permit, fitness renewal and ownership transfer fee, issue of NOC, registration renewal, duplicate registration certificate, and change of address. The second component called ‘Sarathi’ is a platform for submission of applications such as learner licence, driving licence, conductor licence, renewal of licence, change of name, address and photos, issuance of duplicate driving and conductor licence and updating of phone numbers.
